Emil will be able to race in the UK it will be announced next week alongside Hume. Done deal here we go

Hume has invested heavily in two brand new engines for this coming season. Came in to the sport so late but the signs are there of progression and there’s much more to come from him in my opinion. Some have criticised his style but that’s natural for someone coming from a predominantly Trails background. He’s a ballsy rider I like him.

Imagine if we could get Chris Holder on a British licence with a reduction due to the number of seasons he has been out & a further reduction for being British, that would make Basso Racing Fans day

Could think of something far far better..... bogof on ex GP riders:rofl:

Wonder how Ukranians living in Ipswich feel about their speedway team having a Russian.

I live close to Edinburgh and my wife of nearly 25 years is Russian. That doesn't mean she likes or supports Putin, does it? In fact she detests him. Most of her circle of friends here are Ukrainians and the already strong bonds between them have only strengthened over the course of the past year. Comments like yours are simply inflammatory and display a total lack of understanding of the whole situation.

Similarly, Emil has lived in Poland for many years, has had Polish citizenship for many years and just because he was born in Russia, you seek to paint him as a Putin supporter. Pathetic.

You'll have to excuse BassoRacingFan, he's the forum idiot and always talks a load of nonsense:blink:

I wonder how many Ukrainians consider the Witches "their" team - or even know there is speedway?  When Gollob and other Poles rode, there was no big interest from the Polish community in the town.

I think it's possible that there will be a negative reaction overall from people who are vociferous about the war ...

All the Poles that worked at our place, went back home after Brexit. Is the Polish community still large in P'boro ?

I’d take him over Heeps anyday and I am amazed that some think the other way round - I did post last season early on that he didn’t always appear to be in full control on the bends but by the later stages he seemed more confident / comfortable on the bike.

Like King he always tries hard and never gives up and you can’t really ask for too much more than that! I hope he is in for 2023.
