LOL a typical response from a fan of another team that hasn’t signed him. The same always got trotted out when Leigh Adams, Jason Crump and Hans Nielsen had similar averages. Doyle is unlikely to improve that average no, but don’t pretend you wouldn’t love him leading your team. He’s outstanding in this league and your response comes across as pure jealousy.

Enjoy KK.

The only trouble is, and it’s not jealousy, I’m genuinely delighted Doyle is riding UK again, we’ve been there with Freddy, if he gets injured there’s literally no one to replace him. You end up with the usual guests, Bomber, Lawson etc. Unless of course you have a good lawyer and bring in Robert Lambert, but I’m pretty sure that particular loophole will be closed next season.

That is always possible in this sport obviously, but it isn’t a reason not to sign him if the opportunity is there. We’re fortunate to have him.

You absolutely are, as we were with Freddy, but unless more riders of his standard commit to riding here it will always be an issue.

All dependant on the make up of the rest of the team. If they all maintain their averages then Ipswich are scoring 39, expecting the No7 to score 7 to win.

Ipswich need at least 3 rider's that will improve their average

He gets plenty of credit by many but the question is, is he worth it. 28.68 to fill 5 spots is a big ask.

Maybe if you actually went and watched some live speedway you’d see for yourself how Doyle is so easily worth that and an awful lot more!

Somebody who doesn’t understand averages - if we a team draws then their team total will end up around the 42.00 mark, not 39.00.

There is nothing risky about signing Doyle. Quality, reliable and classy performer.

The world number 10 was the standout rider in the Premiership in 2022 and he revealed how a press day encounter gave him some extra motivation to score well for the club.

“I had a funny encounter when I first signed at Ipswich, on press and practice day one of the trackmen said to me ‘welcome to Ipswich, we didn’t really want you as a number one, we wanted Chris Holder but hopefully you can do your job!’ That sat in my mind a bit“

What a thing to say ffs! If you’re reading this and it was you you’re an absolute bellend.

Why is he a bellend??

Doyle himself is saying the comment got in his head - and it worked out pretty well !!

Good to hear some honest expression rather than the usual sycophantic yes man behaviour

Then we’re obviously completely different kinds of people. It’s rude, and disrespectful.

Doyle is first class and remains committed to British Speedway and for that reason he’s not all about money! As he has said many times, riding British tracks (more technical than elsewhere in Europe) makes him a better rider. His fellow Aussie mates have picked up on this when you consider that next seasons Aussie GP riders will all be riding in this country.

Despite his high average I think most teams would try and juggle their team building if they thought they could get him to ride for them. Think he will get a good reception when he comes to Leicester with the Witches. We’ll secretly wish he has a stinker on the night, but know it is unlikely!

Context is everything. May have been said tongue in cheek for a laugh. If it wasn’t then it’s out of order no matter if that’s what you’re thinking you just don’t say it really.

In reality I think you are spot on here

I can certainly see this as tongue in cheek from a dry old Suffolk boy :t:

Think this is likely the team, essentially upgrading summers/barker to nick Morris and swapping out starke for Kenyan rew. It’s a better side than last year imo, if it is the team hopefully rew finds his feet quickly as does whoever the rising star is, shame we can’t have Hume for another season at 7 as he’s great round foxhall

Worried we go Rowe and after 1 month he says he's only doing Poland again

Think most Wolves fans will tell you Morris is pretty awful on away tracks,,, so not the greatest addition,, but I guess he is okay at Foxhall,, but still looks like a team of very inconsistent riders,, Doyle apart,,,, If its Rew,, how long will it take him to get used to smaller tracks.  I think we will finish lower than last year and if we make play offs we will bum out first round on aggregate again.

Belle Vue and Sheffield fighting it out again for supremacy

He’s good at Foxhall, he’s good at wolves and he’s good at Leicester at least so for me if he’s essentially coming in for summers/barker from last years team it’s a fairly hefty upgrade
