No return next season?

Not sure about that if he's not in the GP's again I don't see why he wouldn't ride in England next season

It was in reply to Mike’s question about whether he’d return for this year’s playoffs.

I definitely think you’ll return next year which is great.

Well he could always be a guest:D

Never know with this funny sport all we can do is win at least 3 of the remaining fixtures to put any pressure on. Can't see us winning at wolves unless Erik is flying to help the top 2

He couldn’t even do that as there is only Jason near him at the top of the averages.

Good luck in you battle with the Bates’.

I think it would take a Leicester (Bates) win at Sheffield (Bates) during the qualifying meetings to keep Ipswich out, it’s that close. Play off meetings can be so financially rewarding.

No Emil return I’m afraid.

Mmmmmmm...

I see your point....:D

36, and to do that they MUST win at Wolves. So the pressure is on Ipswich.

Leicester and Wolves will get 5 points to share between them in the B fixtures and matches against Lynn and P'boro offer further opportunities for points.

The most plausible route to qualification is Sheffield failing to complete their fixtures. As it stands they have 2 dates to arrange and not a single Monday or Thursday available to them until after the cut-off deadline (unless it is extended again).

There are actually potentially 7 points available in those Leicester/Wolves B fixtures

2 draws and superheats would see that be the case

A serious flaw in the scoring system when a single point could be the difference...

I think if Ipswich win all the rest of their meetings the most likely team they can beat to the playoffs is Wolverhampton at the moment. I think Leicester and Sheffield will be safe on current form even if they don't complete all of their meetings.

Ipswich will go onto 36 points if they win all their meetings.

Wolves remaining meetings and predicted points: Leicester (A) 0 ; Ipswich (H) 0 ; Sheffield (A) 0 ; Sheffield (H) 2 ; Peterborough (A) 3 ; Leicester (H) 2 ; Sheffield (A) 0

I think this is a pretty plausible set of results and would put Wolverhampton on 36 too. I don't know what the situation is with teams on the same points, but if Peterborough get a surprise win or Leicester or Sheffield win away it would mean Ipswich qualify.

A few weeks back apparently it was all over for the Witches play offs,, now it's being talked up again:rofl:

Still very long odds. To win all the remaining fixtures is not likely. We’d already be safely in them without the Riss issue as we’ve lost a lot of tight meeting when he hasn’t contributed anything but that’s done and dusted now so no point going over it. He’s showing signs lately that he’s getting a bit of his old form back so if that continues, we’ll win the majority (not all) of our remaining meetings. Gonna be a case of “what if” this year unfortunately. A season having the best two riders in the league (one on a clearly bargain average) wasted.

Whilst is is still possible for the Witches to qualify they should pursue  this all they can - the table is skewed by two things in my view

1/ The Witches run of late has been because they have been riding against the bottom two and they also secured a very good win at Leicester (which is how they started the season winning away in the cup) - other sides had stacked uop points against KL and 'Boro previously giving them a points advantage which the Witches are now reeling in a bit

2/ The home loss V Wolves didn't help at all. Belle Vue is perhaps a different matter.

I still think if any team will fall out of the top four its actually Leicester as they have a trick(ier) set of fixtures with more away than home. I had them down as winning at Peterborough (yet to do) but I didn't think they would get a result at Wolves. So in summary who knows form can go out the window.

End Result - Witches will fail  by a point or two to get in the playoffs - which given how they started the season will be a blow / disappointment / wasted opportunity (delete as you see fit!)

Totally agree with this and yes think we will win all bar the Wolves meeting... Other than the obvious 2 suspects, I can't see where the remaining points would come from to win at Monmore.

if Riss has a stormer there - which he is capable of then its possible but i agree in principle i have the Witches as winning all their remaining fixtures except that one!

Louis will have them fired up for that Wolves meeting and in the words of Kelv, there’s no doubt about that.

Would be nice to go in to the final fixture at home to Leicester with a possibility of still squeezing in.

Will need some hard chargers that’s for sure!
