Unless your Belle Vue!

While the 2022 regulations contained an identical reg 10.3.1, it also contained Reg 012.2 which was contradictory: A Premiership Transfer Window opens after 25% of the League fixtures are complete and closes when 75% of League fixtures are complete. This permits changes to the team on 2 occasions, except for proven long term injury.

Reg 012.2 doesn't appear in the 2023 Regulations

Did anybody ever attempt to define "long-term"?

A week?

A month?

3 months?

6 months?

A year?

Correct.

Peterborough made a change outside of the transfer window due to a long term injury. Belle Vue were initially stopped (by a rival promoter on the BSPL top table) but cited the previous application of the rule. The SCB agreed that rules should be applied the same and the rule book won out and the Aces could make the signing.

In sport playing by the rules is important and the loose application or down right breaking of rules over the last couple of decades has had a big effect on crowds, especially the old school that made up the largest percentage of fans. No rules, no fair competition, no point.

Dan started off slowly but has been in great form the last month in both league and individual meetings, long may it continue.

He has certainly shut a few people up with his performances of late! Lets hope he continues - but we have to remember the early days of any promising riders career are never a linear thing form will go up and down - as long as the overall trajectory is up than all is good!

Emil hardly ever rides in heat 15  when the result of the meeting is done & dusted, even when he’s unbeaten or top scorer, maybe that’s his choice, a cost cutting issue, who knows.

Hawkins likes giving King an opportunity to finish last in heat 15

No idea however Emil certainly seems to be very happy at Ipswich, hopefully the league structure & club finances allow him to return next year.

Hope so its been a real pleasure witnessing his skill this season.

In relation to the other point - last season Doyle also passed up heat 15 on a few occasions for a variety of reasons if ther meeting was won - I know one was he'd burst an eardrum and didn't feel like taking the extra ride. Maybe Emil likes to gives others the chance to have another ride and earn more money.

Against a poor Peterborough side and then when Bewley packed up on first bend and Wright excluded for moving but there you go

I think when the team has been so poor excluding the top 2 usually the flack lands at the manager and captain. He's had his good meetings and looks like he's pulled his finger out scoring double figures 4 out of the last 6 meetings and it's no coincidence we've started winning more meetings when we're carrying so many people
