Louis team manager tomorrow night. Does this mean Hawkins has gone?

Perhaps he's stepping into the promoter void at Peterborough, as it's close to home.

A quick look at today's fixtures & I see a way back into play-off contention. Witches win at Belle Vue, Stars win at Leicester and Panthers win at Wolverhampton - what could be simpler :D

I was pointing out how unlikely a late play-off push for Ipswich is - it's not easy to post sarcasm

Surely Jye Etheridge has to be knocking on the Ipswich door. Erik Riss and Danyon Hume massively struggling for form at Premiership level.
Etheridge has proved that he can perform at that level (after he guided Belle Vue to the title last season) and has openly admitted he wants a premiership team.

Thoughts Ipswich fans?

Not for me.

I wouldn't say he guided Belle Vue to the title, more realistic to say he was a part of the team that won the league!

But as "some" Berwick fans on here are keen to get rid of him, I don't think he'll solves Witches problems.

Ipswich should swap Erik (who is clearly struggling) and Danyon with Barker and Mountain imo... I know Mountain didn't do a lot tonight, but he's an upgrade on Danyon imo and Barker would be an upgrade on a struggling Riss too. Would put Rew back at reserve also

1. Emil Sayfutdinov

2. Connor Mountain

3. Danny King

4. Ben Barker

5. Jason Doyle

6. Keynan Rew

7. Dan Thompson

Personally I would swap Doyle and King around too... Having Emil and Jason meet in heat 13 feels like a wasted chance for both of them to get a heat win... If they didn't meet at any point they have 8 opportunities to win races, but because they meet in 13 they only have 7.

I also assume Barker and Mountain would be cheaper than Erik and Danyon too?

Also I think Jason Edwards would be better at number 7, but I haven't really looked into how Jason and Dan performed earlier this season in the PL

Me personally I would be on the phone to every possible foreign newbie,, and see if any accept,, work ya way from top to bottom of anyone that's in the world under 21s,,this year and the ones from last year and the year before,, then call the likes of the riders that haven't ridden here for a few years,, like Lahti, lebvedev,, Lyager, Huckenbeck,, then riders who ride Polish div 2 like Berntzon,, just call everyone,, see if someone can be pursuaded,,, got nothing to lose,,, don't want to keep going ba k to riders like Barker,, we should be setting our sights on riders like Gusts, Salonen,,Neilsen and so on,, riders that have potential

Agreed! I’d rather we not bother making any changes if we’re just going to bring back Barker or one of the usual suspects. As you say We should use this as a chance to try someone new or bring someone back on a low average

Considering Chris Louis openly admitted on tv that he hadn't heard of most of these under 21 riders, I don't see that happening.....

Plus, after already paying big for Emil and presumably Doyle, is there really a lot of money left at Ipswich to get riders like Lahti, Lebedevs, Huckenbeck etc in (bearing in mind most of these types of riders already have their maximum number of leagues)

Have to disagree with your Doyle / King swap suggestion. As Doyle is one of the top riders in the world you want him in heat 13 getting 5-1s with Emil, not beating a reserve in heat 12 (which King should be able to do). So while you might gain 1 point in heat 12, you'd probably drop 2 in heat 13.

Now the play-offs are gone keeping Riss is gonna give him a nice low average for 2024, potentially coming back as reserve?

Yeah... It took me a while to cotton on to it, but definitely feels like we are keeping Riss for the remainder of the season... You never know, he might be dialled in by the time the Cup final rolls around in September, although as always, Sheffield will be a tough ask!

After tonight, there's a 3 week gap until the next home match, and then another 2 weeks until the final home league match = two home meetings in the school summer holidays!  Riss is more likely to be dialled in to Dial-a-Disc.

That's is a mind boggling situation!

with the Play-Offs gone they need to start thinking about getting Emil and Jason to get their averages down for next season

Jason currently on 9.44 so surely that could get down to around 8.5 if he has a few shockers,  Emil is currently on 9.80 so if he has a few gremlins too the club should be looknig to get that down to a sub 9 average surely, let the other rides do their own thing

If the 2024 regs are the same 39 point limit with an R/S then you could build

1, Sayfutdinov 9.00
2, Z. Cook 4.84
3, Woffinden 7.03
4, B. Cook 5.17
5, Doyle 8.50
6, Rew 4.00
7, Thompson R/S

Could possibly switch Woffinden for Holder
