Zagar has looked quite classy around Foxhall when I have seen him but think we will see this side having spoken to a few people over the weekend

1. Doyle 10.32
2. Riss 6.00
3. King 6.40
4. Cook 4.92 / Kerr 4.59
5. Holder 7.29
6. Hume 3.98
7. Rowe R/S

It is a shame that the Witches promotion are not forward thinking as a rider like Frederik Jakobsen at no.2 or 4, replacing Cook/Kerr would have sprinkled a little more hype on this team, the last rider at no.4 is going to make or break such a team, you could have Batch at no.2, Riss at no.4 and have Starke replacing Hume.

1. Doyle
2. Batchelor
3. King
4. Riss
5. Holder
6. Starke
7. Rowe

Starke had a poor season last season but do you go with him, allow Doyle/Kings averages to drop then redeclare a bit stronger?

Agree having a journeymen like cook or Kerr at 4 hints at lack of imagination/forward thinking. Personally I'd have someone else at 3 too but I really can't see King being anywhere else.

I disagree, cause I'd expect them both to up their averages

I can't see that. Kerr has been at Ipswich before in the championship & was disappointing.

As for Cook he was the supposed bargain signing last winter & his average dropped further. Add into the equation that the 2023 league looks looks tougher than 2022.

Ipswich need to be looking at young blood who can not only improve but can be part of the clubs long term future.

A side with Batch,King & Cook/Kerr has far to many question marks & not enough improvement.

Cook maybe has a bit of improvement in his average,,,, but Kerr I don't think so,,,, he's been around that average for the last 10 years,,, why would he suddenly now improve.  Maybe he would slightly with Sheffield as his home track,,, but that's mainly cos away riders don't race it so well.

I absolutely think he can improve on 4.59, he'd got into a rut at Lynn for whatever reason and he should be able to put a point on that riding elsewhere, as his Sheffield scores would suggest.

He’s no world beater obviously, but he’s consistently been a 5 and a half pointer for years, riding in the 1-5. That would suggest there’s a point increase on his current 4 and a half, especially if pitched at reserve. Anyone signing Kerr on that figure is making a shrewd signing.

Cook is the same, although carries more risk than Kerr because of reliability issues in recent seasons. You can never be confident that Cook won’t take another “break” during the season these days sadly.

Hume is popular because he is a nice guy as much as his riding but personally I think he still has a lot of potential and will improve next season.

Completely disagree tbh, and part way through the season there was an interview with Doyle in the programme where he said he thinks Danyon could go a lot further in his career because he listens, went on to say the teams been much stronger since he came in for the other guy… clearly made a much bigger impression on Doyle than rowe

I feel that a few of the younger Latvian, Czech and Danish riders could definitely be brought over to the UK. Polish riders of similar ages are getting chances to race against the best riders in the world with the U21 reserves in the Polish Leagues, with the promise of racing against Doyle, Fricke, Holder and Bewley those non-polish riders might race in the UK.

I'm thinking Francis Gusts, Juhl Pedersen, Daniel Klima etc.

There are a few that I'm sure could be pursuaded if the price is  right.  I agree with your riders,,, there is also Timo Salonen,, who was absolutely brilliant in the SON,,, there was also the Ukrainian rider,,,, marko someone,,, there are plenty I can't think off,,, for some reason we seem to stick with the same old that just won't be improving,,,are on their way down,, or have just basically a achieved their limit.

Even someone like Lyager would be a 4 pointer,, and would surely improve on that.  I just get the feeling they don't contact anyone apart from the usual suspects

So you don't disagree then! I said that he has a lot of potential and would improve further next season. He had a good season and is already a far better rider than Anders Rowe. He had a unfortunate injury which hurt Ipswich and Glasgow a previous post said he was injury prone, I don't believe that, most riders get injured from time to time. I just hope he would come back to Poole.

Quite a difference in age and experience between Hume and Rowe so you'd expect Hume to be ahead, however Rowe is a conundrum, he's done quite well in Poland but can't seem to do anything in the UK after a great debut season for Somerset and doesn't seem able to settle anywhere. The ability is there, maybe its a lack of belief. Hopefully he can find the right club over here and establish himself.

Haha apologies mate, I was replying to the post you had replied to saying he’s 26 injury prone and not going to improve, quoted the wrong post haha

Yes I agree with that, seems to have as yet unfulfilled potential, maybe will improve more this coming season.
