And to think people said that Belle Vue was such a “fair track” and that there was little to none home advantage. LOL. How many 60+ scores have you had at home Phil? And yet without looking at the stats, I’m guessing your away record is one of if not THE worst in the top 4?? That tells you everything you need to know about your home advantage. Keep in within 20 at Foxhall and you’ll still be favourites to progress. Why do you constantly keep doing this as if the Witches are some sh!te team that finished bottom? Despite on Eurosport Monday night with Stead, Tatum, and the other presenters claiming every 5 minutes that they had “won the league”, “finished top” etc etc, they’ve done no such thing! Now if Sheffield beat Ipswich in Ipswich’ last remaining fixture then they’ll have achieved that. But that’s not yet settled is it. You’re doing Ipswich a disservice, good side as the table suggests, (joint top on points), but the home advantage Belle Vue have will see them through to the final. We won’t be favs. Ipswich beat us over 2 legs twice this year. Got closer to anyone at NSS this year. And we will be doing our home leg without our no1. ipswich could easily beat us 60-30 tonight meaning tie over Edited September 29, 2022 by PhilTheAce

This is the first year in 5 years at NSS that we seem to have had any home advantage, anyone that thinks it’s going to be anything like the 60-30 score from last time is seriously deluded. The week following that against Wolverhampton was 47-43. Doyle, Tungate, King, Batchelor were all very poor that night, if they on form they can all score double figures and the meeting will be close, only Ipswich reserves are weak point round NSS. But Belle Vue reserves will be weak at Ipswich tonight.

BV66
In my view, Belle Vue have to keep the deficit at Ipswich tonight to 10 or less points,to have a chance in the home leg, and as has been said, Doyle will probably be unbeaten tonight, and if the other Ipswich riders get their act together, they could win comfortably. Belle Vue's away for m has been poor this year, and now the colder damper conditions have arrived we will get nowhere near the 60 point home totals we had in the warm weather. King likes the NSS when it is wet, and the only reason he finished fourth in the BRC was that his bike was too slow, on the night.

The drier, slicker conditions made the racing great at the NSS this year.. Especially as often the Aces were outgated but found the set ups to get the power down into the drier, slicker conditions and pass their opponents... There may have been 60-30's but if races had ended coming out of turn two lap one, I would suggest 46-44's would have been the order of the day on many occasions..... In the colder, damper nights, it is more gate and hold the line... And if your engines are quick enough, getting passed will not happen too often... ruckerroo
what would belle vue settle for tonight, 52-38 in old money ???
chun
the witches are tracking an out of sorts reserve pairing so are unlikely to be able to command a big lead for the 2nd leg. as others have alluded to, the condition of the belle vue track will likely determine the odds of either side progressing with the witches likely favouring damp or cooler conditions. a warm up is forecast for next week but whether that gets as far as manchester who knows… Edited September 29, 2022 by chun
Arch Stanton
Think we’ll probably win tonight but it’ll be close. Away it’ll be a walkover. With the greatest respect to them, when you have the likes of Etheridge and the German lad flying past established heatleaders and number 1’s like they’re stuck in a traffic jam then that tells you how difficult it is there. TTT
Think Ipswich can put this tie to bed tonight. Fancy BV to struggle without Fricke who's been a weapon around the technical tracks this year.

SUPERACE
The Aces need to hold it to 10 points tonight to stand any chance in the second leg. I fancied us to get to the final before Fricke got injured, but not now, no team in the play offs can afford to lose their number 1 and still win the title. I expect a 14 to 16 point win for Ipswich tonight.

Steve55
Think Aces will win over the two legs even without Max Fricke, remember Jason Doyle can only ride a maximum of 5 heats in each leg!
old bob at herne bay
Think we have a classic two legged tie where neither team can ride each others "muckheap" (to quote Phil the Ace). Big Track / Little Track.

one of clubs
Tonight I can see a heavy defeat for BV 55-35, and a loss on aggregate.I, along with most others, tipped Sheffield for the title and I have not seen anything else to change my mind. Got the an and b mixed up. Yes you’re right. But still. Ipswich kept it close. And probably would have done in the b fixtures if it hadn’t have been for Doyle’s bike troubles. I fully expect a big ippo win today and a narrow belle Vue win Monday
