Perfectly acceptable....:D

And the fans, if they win, won't care one jot...

We do get the sport (domestic UK), that we deserve...:D

If as seems likely Sheffield do get through you end up with a club who will do whatever it takes to win and the rule book goes out the window and one club who has basically stuck with the same team all season and has got to final on merit. Mickey Mouse sums it up and as you rightly say most will not care and will see it for what it should is a contrived event. Add to this the powers that be who have no balls and a TV company who really are not interested in domestic U K speedway the event has now become a sad reflection of what it use to be years back. Sadly not many on here will hold out any hope that the situation will improve in the future.

We can only hope the team that have done things the right way come out on top. I thought Lambert might not like Monmore but he proved me wrong, he proved that a truly top class rider can ride any track, whether he can beat the calibre of Doyle and Emil on a regular basis remains to be seen, Wolves are a solid team but they dont have any GP quality riders.

So what was supposed to happen with four riders who were out injured?Do whatever it takes to win, don't be silly.

As I said, not many really care now it has been devalued by the BSPL and rules which apply to the league but not the final, where they allow riders to be dropped at a whim during the season even if they are not injured and then allow clubs to almost select a team from those riders not riding in the Polish play offs. It is what it is and the current set up of the sport allows clubs to stretch the meaning of the rules. It use to be Poole that were the culprits but many now adopt a similar policy. As to Sheffield again who cares apart from a few hardy souls who turn up week in week out. You enjoy your final, I sure you think you have earned it.

  • Being proactive in replacing injured riders
  • Dropping out of form riders
  • Ruthlessly casting aside solid performers in order to accomodate changes elsewhere in the team
  • Booking decent guests

None of these are objectively 'wrong' and are they not exactly the things Poole fans praise Matt Ford for doing?

I agree that Matt Ford would have done and did do anything to win. I dont know if completely true but when you hear Ipswich were not allowed to use Lambert and then he rocks up for Sheffield and also not allowed Joe T when NDL riders are meant to be exempt from the 8 day it appears Ipswich aren't looked at favourably .

Any club will try to win under the rule book   in any sport..Not sure what rules tells you have to stick with the ream all season and if you do  you do so it counts as .doing it on merit. Why are  the TV company not interested in UK speedway what is that based on ? Surely if  had no interest you would not show it in the first place.

Sheffield top two riders have been injured  otherwise they would stuck with them. What do expect them to do  not try to replace them with the best options. .

So obviously you don't want us to replace Jack, Tobi and Dan, so that leaves us with four riders, that would have been good for business

Wolves have been lucky with injuries, we haven't, so that means we don't deserve to win the play offs, so presumably what we should have done when Jack got injured was withdraw from the league and let Wolves win the play offs because they have been luckier than us with injuries

that seems like a good reason to be league champions

And by that logic Sheffield are 2022 champions.:D

Except we weren't because who ever won the play offs won the league, he obviously forgot that Sheffield were top of the league last season

i don't mind if Sheffield went down as league winners last season and Belle Vue this, it means i saw Sheffield win the top league for the first time last year, so i don't have to worry about whether we win the play offs this year not
