There’s the 8 day guest rule also to take into consideration for a guest not replacing the number one in the averages (Musielak goes to number one from 1/10).  Damien Bates has confirmed that Robert Lambert and Richard Lawson are doing the 2nd leg v Wolves this Thursday and that Robert Lambert has agreed to do both legs of the final if Sheffield get there.

If no Tai Woffinden next week (imagine that he’s season is over after the crash on Sunday but would live it if he was back) then Sheffield could use Chris Harris for both legs v Ipswich as a guest, as Lawson would not be able to guest in the 2nd leg of the final due to the 8 day rule and Damien’s preference is to have the same guest for both legs

As for Vissing,  no guest confirmed yet for a Thursday, but imagine after his last guest appearance Jye Etheridge will be in for the two legs of the final if Vissing continues to be out next week

Why is nothing every straight forward!!

Harris has already made a guest appearance for Ipswich at Home to BV so per the rules he wouldn't be allowed to guest for another play-off team.

That rule doesn't exist. You just can't ride for both teams in a 2 leg tie. If anything happened to any of Ipswich's top 2 there'd be nothing stopping Lambert riding against Sheffield in the final

If it isn’t a rule then it’s one that should be! A rider riding for two different teams in the play offs is even more farcical than usual!!

So Sheffield could use Harris at Ipswich which would farcical again as he got Ipswich in to the final and then he is trying to stop them winning it!

Exactly, bonkers. Think people should stop trying to interpret what is a rule and what isn’t anyway. Every man and his dog on here were adamant that Ipswich couldn’t use Lambert for Doyle when some suggested him because he was on an “assessed” average. Turns out they could have done after all! Who knows if Harris is eligible, wouldn’t surprise you though if he did would it?

He could possibly get the odd boo from Ipswich fans but that would not worry him. Apparently it was mentioned that Ipswich were told they could not use Lambert but who knows the truth also were not allowed to use Joe T and 8 day rule isnt meant to apply to ndl riders.

Final nail in British Speedway's coffin if that does happen.

That final nail is taking a while to be hammered into that coffin, was put in around 2016 wasn't it

It's only the die hard fans that put up with it tbf and they'll soon go once their club closes, Can tell that by looking at the age demographic at a meeting streamed on BSN or a live TV meeting on Eurosport (Not being disrespectful), Only reason why some young kids go is because the parents can't leave them at home and they're not interested in watching the racing.

I just can't see the sport attracting new fans if we've got rules that are an embarrassment to the sport to a point where every year they shoot themselves in the foot.

The rules don't even make our sport sound semi-professional anymore let alone professional.

i think Eurosport might be part of the problem, they want to show a good product for their advertisers and subscribers, so may have an input into the apparent rule changes, he who pays the piper and all that

Perfectly acceptable....:D

And the fans, if they win, won't care one jot...

We do get the sport (domestic UK), that we deserve...:D

Sadly I feel you are correct...

As with so much in life..

What got passed up, and accepted as "OK", in the pre internet days is impossible to get away with nowadays....

Where once "dozens" may have shook their collective heads, and laughed at something they found out, (after already paying their money to get in), it is now potentially many thousand who know well in advance what is going to be served up, so will make the call to atrend based on whether they find it acceptable or not...

A "difficult sell" sometimes I would think...
