The fallout from Tai’s ringer year has been catastrophic for our flagship event and the cobbled together teams put out. Architects of their own demise, very sad.

Yet strangely what we did that year is still perfectly acceptable as proved by Sheffield. What strange logic you have.

The fallout from the Lambert ringer, as you so rightly know, is far, far worse, and Tai wasn't a ringer, at that point he had only ever rode for 1 top flight team. Guess who ?

:DQuick question as rules in UK are complicated a bit.

Can Sheffield use Lambert + Harris away at Ippo and Lambo + Fricke at home? Or guest can ride for one team only in playoffs and Harris is already "Ipswich asset for 2023 PO" as he rode for them in semi?

I'll say I'm sure a rider can only represent one club in the play offs as a guest

And I'll also add I'm sure British speedway will find a way to shoot itself in the foot by going against the above

Nowhere in the regs to prevent it

The only part mentioned is not being able to ride for both sides in a 2 legged tie

It has been hinted that there is an agreement in place between all parties to prevent it

Given the regs are manipulated what chance does a 'gentleman's' agreement have if push comes to shove....

Yeah, agree that rider can only represent one club in PO which is sensible solution. And Sheffield used Lambert and Fricke already this year. Can see them using both in finals again. But not 100% sure.

There’s the 8 day guest rule also to take into consideration for a guest not replacing the number one in the averages (Musielak goes to number one from 1/10).  Damien Bates has confirmed that Robert Lambert and Richard Lawson are doing the 2nd leg v Wolves this Thursday and that Robert Lambert has agreed to do both legs of the final if Sheffield get there.

If no Tai Woffinden next week (imagine that he’s season is over after the crash on Sunday but would live it if he was back) then Sheffield could use Chris Harris for both legs v Ipswich as a guest, as Lawson would not be able to guest in the 2nd leg of the final due to the 8 day rule and Damien’s preference is to have the same guest for both legs

As for Vissing,  no guest confirmed yet for a Thursday, but imagine after his last guest appearance Jye Etheridge will be in for the two legs of the final if Vissing continues to be out next week

Why is nothing every straight forward!!
