Wouldve been time for a double header  - probably could fit in the missing heats of the A fixture too......

So if its play offs now what is the date for the sheffield vs ipswich league fixture?

Whenever it is the Witches should aim to get as close to 15 points as possible

With just 10  meetings making up 2023 averages 0 from 5 or 6 rides for a couple of riders will make a huge difference to how attractive they are as signings  for next season...

This may be a silly question,,, but why didn't Sheffield race on a few Mondays to make sure they had completed their fixtures before the cut off?

The match against Ipswich was supposed to be last Monday, so they would have completed their fixtures before the cut if not for circumstances beyond their control

Agree with that in principle although the other non ridden fixture was also a result of the Sheffield logjam - with them taking every date in the last 2 weeks preventing rearrangement due to opposition clashes

True, but in theory it should have happened

it was strange last night, the forecast would have caused it to be called off at all tracks earlier in the season, but last night went ahead and the track was as dry as it could be, it ws strange going to track wondering if it would be off, something that used to happen quite a lot

This match reminds me of a Coventry v belle vue match in 1983. Coventry won 55 - 23 and we were told by Stuart bamforth before the match that belle vue would be trying to reduce their averages. Three weeks later in the league Cup final they drew 39 - 39. Friends of ours who followed by all over the country never went again after this.
