How do you get that? Not disputing it, just interested to know?!

I don't think I worked it out right hence the question mark lol. Just waiting for someone to correct it for me ;).

Although someone did say Ben Cook's would be 3.5 and that is from 6.09 in the Champ. If that is right then mine def wrong lol.

Would assume as newcomers to the premiership that both Cook brothers will be assessed at 4pts

But that's what the started on in the Champ? So don't see how that can be right. Surely it will just have their Champ ave converted like everyone else.

Maybe if they didn't do Champ would be assessed 4?

Ben Cook's ave would be 4.06 (6.09 / 1.5)

Zach's Champ converted ave would be 3.28 but minimum average for foreigners is 4.00 so that is Zach's average.

Think they're scrapping that rule in the Premiership. Still waiting on an update

The rule has always been minimum 4.00 ave for a foreigner, didn't matter if they are new or not!

I certainly hope not. You could argue if a foreigner isn't good enough to sign on a 4.00 ave then you should use a Brit!

If Poland have rules to help their own riders shouldn't GB also?

Bit stupid to have same assessed average in both leagues when one is supposed to be stronger than the other. Should be 4.5 and 4 or 4 and 3.5 imo.

3.69?

Had a quick glance through Poole,s matches since 1st July, and Zach,s average I would say in those remaining 4 months is a lot better than the earlier 4 months .And that to me is a truer reflection on the riders ability .

How many meetings did Kemp have at reserve compared to Cook? Kemp has a higher GSA for this season in home average, away average and overall average. With bonus points Cook slightly comes out on top. Crux of it is there’s been very little between them and yet Kemp was seen as the weak link for Wolves and it was said they needed to be a lot stronger at 6 next year, are they?

We’ll obviously have to wait and see and we could well be comparing apples with oranges. Just because Kemp struggled at Wolves doesn’t mean Cook will, but as they were in the same side at championship level that’s the only comparison we currently make. Only time will tell if Zach Cook was a good signing or not but I can understand the pessimism personally. I think Wolves will again lose meetings at reserve. We’ll see.

Kemp 20/15

 vs

Cook 23/14.

So adjusting for that only increases Zach's superiority.

Minimum ave for Brits in Champ is 2.00, Prem is 3.00. Which makes sense as you want the top NL riders to start at 2.00 in the Champ but stepping up to the Prem too early doesn't help anyone, so the minimum of 3.00 in that league seems correct

I'd be perfectly happy for the minimum averages for foreigners to be 4.00 in Prem & 5.00 in Champ, encourage Champ clubs to fill the lower half of their teams with Brits, save money on air fares, accomodation, workshops, visas, work permits - all of which seem an unnecessary expense for a sub 5.00 rider!
