Wells only averaged about 5.5 for Berwick, shocking really. Heard it was to be his last season before (Speedway) retirement. allthegearbutnaeidea
Jonas Knudsen could be a good shout you know. As has been said previously, is good friends with Leon, and will be teammates with Schlein this season at Berwick as well as Leon. Was averaging over 6 as a newcomer in Championship, looked great at Oxford, Redcar and is a good prospect.

Maybe CVS doesn't want to sign a new 4.00 foreigner to the league who may struggle to ride the track. So he'd rather just go with someone who's got experience on all tracks just to give the reserve berth some stability. Last 2 years CVS has took a gamble on reserves Broc Nicol (2021) and Drew Kemp (2022) and it backfired on both occasions. The 1-5 doesn't leave Wolves with many points to play with and Barker is by far the best option left on the table tbh.

We all know Barker comes with baggage and is a bit of a loose cannon at times but he's a reliable points scorer at reserve and can also do at job riding at number 2, the wheels kinda fell Ipswich's season when he got banned when he did, scored good points for the witches.

I think the salient sentence is "when he got banned". So this is a rider that breaks rules, by inference cannot be relied upon to do what he should, and presumably would be a negative for team spirit. Not many incentives to sign him, I think.

Finishes next March. If as some have suggested its Co-Codamol(pain killer) that he's taken, think the ban is a bit harsh.I take it every day due to a back injury sustained at work, but then again I'm not a speedway rider. The problem with this drug is that it contains a tiny amount of morphine. But it's definitely not a recreational drug. Many good points apart from your presumptionn Ben has many faults (some significant) and he has let people down (including himself) on a few occasions These are even more frustrating as on a personal level he is a likeable character and an excellent team member I think in normal circumstances he would have burnt his bridges with the sport now after the latest transgression but speedway being speedway as it is now I expect him to be back somewhere assuming he is permitted

Always seems really popular at every club he's ridden for but then nobody wants him! Strange.
