To be fair, I turn up to watch the riders. A meeting without Basso is less interesting, just like a meeting without King/Lawson/Worrall would be less interesting for Poole fans. Fans want to see their teams' riders in the playoffs where possible, rather than lots of guests and R/R. We have to make allowances for injuries, but I don't think anyone would be satisfied with makeshift teams.

Pirates Of Poole
The rain completely cleared by 8pm! Why didn’t the Glasgow promotion wait? They prepped the track for rain to come in! Poor decision and am I right in thinking a similar incident happened with Leicester 2 years ago? So what happens in the re-staging when rain is coming down but Glasgow want to continue and Poole don’t? The weather does not look good for area over next 10 days. Sorting a new date is going to be an issue.
bruno
The main thing is the league season should be over by end of September for all 3 leagues with only fillers in October if teams want to run. I thought the shambles if the last few years was bad enough trying to fit fixtures in but this year could be worse. Off to Monmore tonight because it's a few miles up the road but not even considering away fixtures in October

Then use Sept and Oct for cup/trophy meetings.

Where the Premiership is concerned the play-off dates are I believe dictated by the sport's broadcast partners, as other summer sports come to a close leaving space in their schedule. For the Championship I see no reason why the league couldn't be completed by the end of July with the play-offs in August.

Home team A wants to run 15 heats to theoretically build up as much of a lead as possible. Away team B wants as few heats ran to theoretically limit their deficit. You can put any and all teams in the league for A and B. Each and every one of them. Fact. It's not cheating it's professionalism. It's naive to call it anything else. Agree With you Joseq7. It is totally wrong. Could be simply fixed by taking the aggregate scores after the same number of heats in the return leg.? In cricket in a rain affected match each side is allotted the same number of overs to get the runs
Gazc
So we have established Basso was at the track, So the reason for not bringing it forward a couple of hours I am hearing was the referee was teaching Steve Worrall on how to break the tapes eloquently after he excludes him later. 2
Fromafar
You won’t get many long term die-hard supporters who think that meeting was called off purely because of track conditions. But hey -ho that’s speedway. Live streaming will eventually kill the sport regarding spectator attendance.I for one have had enough of this spot of rain and the riders are out on track calling for the Ref. I won’t make the effort to watch it live. British Weather and speedway riders not compatible nowadays.Funny they ride in every other Country in wet conditions though.

Yep understand that but I'd have thought it'd be in their interests to try and sort something out as rain offs must do their heads in as much as all of us. I just can't get my head around there being so few fixtures on across all three leagues in the height of summer and then all the important stuff being crammed in during Sept and Oct when the weather can (and has) change dramatically.
