Pointless signing Andersen and being 2 points under the limit

Well your the one in the know. Based on the statements made in the last few weeks Andersen is definitely in the team. As for being 2 points under. Maybe they are trying to sign a big number 1. Bjerre or dare I say it.. nicki pedersen ? Doesn’t look like he’s signed up in Sweden and was going to ride for Sheffield before covid ?

Unless I have missed something I’ve only found one relevant statement on the Panthers website and I think you are making 2 plus 2 equal five, the same as people were doing with Tom Brennan’s post a few weeks ago.

MPT is heading back to the Adrian Flux Arena in 2023 after two years with the Panthers in the Premiership, during which time he was part of the title-winning side in 2021.

He had also spent previous spells at the Showground in 2015-16 and 2018, although he suffered a badly injury-hit campaign this year.

Elsewhere from the team who triumphed last year, skipper Scott Nicholls has confirmed he will not be signing for a Premiership club next season; and Chris Harris, after a superb 2022 campaign has headed to newcomers Leicester.

The retirement of Ulrich Ostergaard was confirmed in October, whilst Jordan Palin is taking a year out as he recovers from a serious head injury. The contribution of all of our riders to the 'Dad's Army' success of 2021 will always be remembered fondly.

I think all that is doing is saying goodbye to the “Dad’s Army” team of 2021 who have officially been announced elsewhere as not riding for the Panthers this season, leaving the club, retiring, or taking a year out injured.

As there has been no news yet about Hans Andersen there was no need to mention him in that posting. It certainly doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to be in our team next season, and indeed the points available left to us (assuming Flappy is correct) strongly suggests that he won’t be with us.

I’m sure that when his departure becomes official the club will wish him a fond farewell as well, a Panthers legend IMO

Johnson said “we are pressing ahead with everything, and we have just about everything sorted rider wise, it’s just a bit of final stuff that needs to be discussed. We were actually all ready to make an announcement earlier this week, but things have changed somewhat so we’ve had to hold fire on that until it’s all sorted.”

Little snippet from the Speedway Star. Sounds to me that they’ve possibly been gazumped for a rider they thought they had?

Just a change it demands I believe and not from who you all think. All good.

If the above is correct panthers will line up 1.84 under but a strong team that could challenge for honours for me. Personally would rather Batchelor for Andersen.

NKi

Andersen

Tungate

Basso

Holder

Ben Cook

Jenkins

Here’s a thing, IF the sale of the club has fallen through and Tomlin is not the new owner pumping loads of money in, then maybe the riders they have signed so far will need to be told that’s not the case anymore and they will have to start team building again with busters funds ?

The fact it's Carl Johnson and not Dale Allitt or Buster doing the PR suggest all going on behind the scenes.

Carl has the promoters license

Nobody should ever say with confidence that so and so has signed. Flappy could absolutely end up correct no question, but it’s foolish to be so confident. It’s a fluid situation and as I’ve said many times, things change on an hourly basis. I’ve also been told things by a very reliable source and in good faith, but until they’ve signed on the dotted line and announced officially by clubs then things can always change because there’s so many moving parts to these deals. PhilTheAce no doubt also has good info, but he was sure that Kerr wasn’t returning to Sheffield but instead going to Leicester. But Kerr has indeed ended up back at Sheffield. That doesn’t mean he gets duff info, at the time Kerr more than likely was in at Leicester but again, things twist and turn behind the scenes all the time.

Yes one would imagine Kerr was a priority for Sheffield on his average, he could add at least a point to that and he was very good in the playoffs.
