The dog track isn’t the answer even if it was a a possibility  it’s to near houses - a motor sports venue needs to be out of town as the Showground once was - as things stand the future looks bleak sadly -MT seems to me the best hope that a new venue can be found don’t see Buster getting involved in that he just wants a golden handshake for the licence then he’d be gone he might even see Pboro closing its doors as a golden ticket for KL to cash in on some Pboro fans each meeting .

What jars me off is tracks are not permitted near housing estates for noise levels yet housing estates are near airports where noise levels are extreme. Nothing said about that

Panthers fans including myself will still get an opportunity to watch Speedway without having to travel far so it's not like we're going to miss out entirely unless it's by choice.

Ipswich, King's Lynn and Leicester are all close enough tracks that you can get to in 1-2 hours top whack by car even though our track is much more enjoyable, However it's still a track to visit and it's better than nothing and who knows over time some Panthers fans may end up supporting one of those clubs down the road, You've seen it with Swindon fans at Oxford as a recent example.

Sad news yesterday but I think it's only the beginning of the end for the Sport in this country as a whole, Championship is already drastically weaker with the watered down fixture list and points limit due to clubs lacking financial resources, Wolves aren't in a healthy financial position anymore and they could very well be on the clock too as CVS has stated that he wouldn't run in a 6 team Premiership.

I suppose the blow of yesterday's news isn't as impactful as it would've been under normal circumstances, The fighting amongst management during the winter, The dreadful 2022 campaign and a mess of a 2023 campaign has left many fans thinking F it anyway because all we've done for the last 18 months is lose our tempers and then sat back and watched our team lose at Home almost every week, We haven't even had a full Panthers 1-7 complete a meeting in god knows how long.

I'm surprised we're making the effort to see out the season tbh, We may as well just give everyone a refund and call it quits now rather than running at a loss every week, I'll nip down to the final home meeting as well as the Ipswich meeting when Doyle and Emil are in town but that's it because I've lost all interest in our 2023 campaign as it's just a case of deja vu that's a waste of everyone's time, effort and money.

I don't like the way this has played out since we somehow won the title which was a sporting miracle.

If we can't be competitive I'd rather end it now and finish with one last hurrah with a world class field and Panthers legends in a final meeting.

Fixture fulfillment after losing our top number 1 and hearing excuses that nobody wants to ride doesn't get much sympathy from me.

MT has gone hasn't he? Not putting any more money into the club which is part of the buster fall-out, perhaps he will find some land and still save the panthers but under his own banner once Peterborough is officially gone or maybe this experience has shown him that Speedway isn't worth it - thats also partly his fault.

Responded to a fan's concern (on a specific, not organisational question) via e-mail yesterday so no he hasn't gone. My understanding is that he was unfortunately on leave and it all went a bit pear shaped with him being out of the country.

Don't rely on the council to grant planning permission with any sporting activities in this city.

You've only got to look at the football club to realise they don't give a damn. More interested in massive distribution centres and housing developments.

I wouldn't trust the majority of PCC to tell me it's Thursday!

Irrespective of their enthusiasm, if the local plan was agreed and not changed then they need to explain why a high profile existing Peterborough sporting facility is being lost without provision of an alternative elsewhere? Permission for EoES development would not be agreed otherwise. That's there in black & white (are you allowed to say that these days?).

I don't get the dog track too close to houses. It's no closer now than it has ever been and is not an area likely to be swamped with houses in future. Any noise issues wouldn't be unsurmountable IMO.

As for POSH, when you see an artists impression and timeline in the local paper you know that it hasn't been thought through or agreed with all parties and other considerations. The nice graphic is usually the only thing produced at the end of it all.

This. I have shared a few messages with him recently and he's not planning on going anywhere but like us all is frustrated

Ans that is the thing isnt it...

There are plenty of riders available nowadays as they dont ride anywhere else on a Monday and Thursday.. (apart from Polands rain off rescheduled meetings which dont take priority anyway) (Good luck with that, however)....

The purpose of fixed race nights was supposedly to allow "top names" to come back to the UK...

Teams in Peterborough's and Wolverhampton's position should be required to make a signing before running another match, or just be granted RR..

That would stop any "facilities" needing to be requested with all the usual discussion around their legality...

Chris Holder has a set of Panthers kevlars for gods sake, (new colour too), so he should be at No1 for them tonight...

It just makes the sport look amateurish when teams borrow off others, when plenty of riders are sat elsewhere who could take places...

No signing. No meeting...

Would stop a lot of what goes on that impacts the sports credibility I would suggest...

And if not using the power of fixed race nights to get replacements in then you may as well all ride whenever you want...

Well Buster won't get a penny off me going to the bird cage.

That’s fine but - Panthers get a new stadium and track I’d have thought a few speedway meetings won’t make it viable so might have stock cars and your own bird cage .

Did you ask him what's the reason he hasn't brought the club?, and is he still intending to. It would make things a lot clearer regarding your future;).

I wouldn’t be too concerned about credibility, that went over 20yrs ago

The update covered it as much as you'd expect to get: "Over the winter there was an on/off scenario whereby the club may have changed hands. However, given the uncertainty over the longevity of Peterborough Speedway, it was understandable that a sale did not take place".

Also, usually pubs near housing estates. Most speedway noise would be before 10pm. Most noise at pub chucking out time likely to be when people want to sleep.

Don't mind any option to keep Panthers going, but I'm not prepared to line Busters pockets if we are finished after this season, & a lot more fans will probably feel the same.

From MT on Facebook:

“Just as an update from my perspective and my perspective alone the NP debacle has been an issue, something none of us expected however we will react given time to measure the next step.

In regard to the overall position with the Speedway I’m keen to understand the options.

Let’s just support our team who we all love dearly and let the rest go through the process.

As I have stated it ain’t over until the fat lady sings”

Or MT is the reason the Panthers are in the situation they now find themselves in....Anyone can say they would do A,B or C, but you have to put your money where your mouth is. Has MT done this? or has he broken promises leaving Buster as the bad guy?

Maybe maybe not - but in any event Buster is a big boy he could speak up and clarify the situation if he chose to - my bet is that won’t happen - why?
