Peterborough Panthers 2023

How likely is a sale at this point on a scale of 1-10?

Taking into account that the club have already put out a press release 11 days ago regarding Tomalin stepping up by joining the backroom team and applying for a Promoters license?

Tomalin did say the following in the press release which doesn't hint at Buster going anywhere yet imo (Obviously things may have changed since then)

“I have a terrific relationship with Buster (Keith Chapman – club owner), Dale (Allitt) and Carl, and I’m sure we will work well as one team building a future for the Peterborough Panthers!

Buster Chapman has his critics and might not have much "PR" ability but he seems to have the best interests of speedway in his DNA so will be playing his part in trying to make sure this all goes well. I remember him stepping in to buy Leicester on a short term basis which enabled the club to be taken over by the Bates family and I doubt if he made a profit on that, more likely it cost him by clearing some of the debts accrued.

Your right there Al. He doesn't appear to be the happiest chap, and isn't the most charismatic of characters by a long way, but as you say his heart is in the right place.

At this most critical time in true Speedway  fashion they seen to be making a "Right  Ruddy Hames" of the whole matter.  Could not have made more of a  balls up  if they had planned it.

Think we need to support our potential new owner whatever team we start with. Our options don't look very good if he gets fed up of all the moaning on here, & decides to walk away.

He's going nowhere MT that is

I note MT is very supportive of the new NORA Speedway League as announced by IOW!!

Would be, Michael has been a fan of the sport for many years now.

He's certainly committed to the sport.

The reason for any moaning  emanates and is because  of the fact fans are  being kept in the dark.  Notwithstanding this fans will be expected to turn up in numbers and cough up their money when the time comes

I agree to a certain extent, but there could be good reasons why the team isn't announced yet. I just feel we need to support MT, as he has put money towards Panthers for this season, & hopefully for the future.

Agreed it's down to us to let our voices known that we want Buster to sign it over to MT (providing he's naturally financially compensated where necessary) and thank him for everything he's done in helping to save panthers.

Panthers being in limbo with a new promoter who wants to run the club butting heads with the current owner will do nobody any good and would most likely see the club suffer.

It's time for the next chapter under new ownership let's get it done and quick.

Whatever is going on with the ownership of the club going forward it needs to be a priority and sorted as soon as possible , as whoever is the owner doesn't want to find out they have become detatched with there paying public ,

Todays expected interest rate rise wont help with peoples finances again and the only thing the rate hike will possibly help with is the length of time the Panthers could remain at the showground as new house builds are bound to suffer further with the hike and what people can afford to spend on any house moves in the coming months/years ahead.

Buster has done what even moneybags Frost couldn't do provide Peterborough with a title winning team to watch and on a limited budget im sure the Lynn fans would love this to happen to them, but hes not the man to take the Panthers forward in there quest to survive from this point onwards, think the majority of Panthers fans will remember him fondly (if he sells that is) for what he did for and achieved at Peterborough even though his methods at times could be seen as very annoying .
