Some clarity on whether land has been found etc would be good though, you never know who could be potentially interested in investing to keep speedway in the town but like anyone they will need to see something before sending any money.

Take your pick..

"and we have got a piece of land waiting for us." or   I’m going to carry on trying to find a new site for a track because I don’t want Peterborough speedway to finish".

From the same statement..

Think he makes it fairly clear that land is available, it’s financing the stadium build that’s the issue….

That's the elephant in the room. Nobody is going to finance and build anything new within the next few years so I don't know why people are clinging to that. The only option is a Showground extension, which has to be a possibility because nothing will happen development wise in the short term at the very least. Chapman is not interested in 2024 so needs to go now and hand over to someone interested in taking the club forward. I'd be interested to know what was agreed with AEPG when the full 2023 season was negotiated? Was the provision within the local plan considered? I suspect not or the agreement was that we'll go quietly at the end of the season. Johnson never mentions that and his first focus is always land elsewhere which makes me suspicious. The only thing that he's said is that we can't stop the development, which is certainly true, but we can initially make it difficult and ensure that plans and processes are followed?

Unless the planning condition can mean that funds are made available for relocation of the stadium? Would assume this is unlikely but if provision isnt made within the planning application then can they be held to providing sufficient funds for relocation instead?

If provision (continued use) isn't made within their planning application, and it's clear from their first draft that it isn't, then the local plan says like for like infrastructure/facilities elsewhere. One assumes at the expense of AEPG or the EoE Agricultural Society? Councillor Nicola Day said that the planning application would not be agreed without LP30 being adhered to. With the local plan under review they could give us 3 years and get that provision removed from the new plan to be agreed in 2026 or soon after.

It's certainly possible that the section 106 agreement could include a payment to help relocate the existing facility but it's pretty unlikely if the developers of the showground resist, then the local authority really are prepared to dig in to try and preserve the speedway

Barker in and that’s who I was told he was replacing. Unless he’s replacing Tarasenko to cut down costs. But that won’t go down well at all

I would say that if Mick says its incorrect there isnt anyone who knows whats actually happening with Hans more than Hans Andersen himself

North of £250000. Plus buying tractors etc and league entry fees

Leicester was 700 grand all in I believe.
And that’s with the make shift grandstand. But I must say the viewing all round the Leicester track is superb, that’s what we should aim for

Just think..if 700 of us put in a grand each we could do it...I would if someone I trust was leading it and guaranteed that we wouldn't have to put up with the crap we've had to witness this season..oh and I want a seat on the start line and a free program...and not have to pay a £1 for parking:)

That 700 grand I mentioned didn’t include the land, the council have them the land at Leicester, we will need to buy some land so your probably looking at millions to buy land and build a track,

Viewing is very good, track and pits are rubbish

Interesting - as grandstands are a huge luxury that isn’t needed. Grass banking would more than suffice in the early days.

The land in question is down Oxney Road I'm lead to believe but as said above staying at the showground is the only chance this has of materialising in reality.

The resistance has to start now. I understand MT is talking to Buster about the club but won't make any statements until deals are done

God we can only hope...I feel like this season has been a S### stick that we just keep getting poked with..
