Edinburgh v Redcar Play offs

Recommended Posts

Watched last nights meeting, first time I’ve watched speedway from Armadale in over 10 or so years,  couldn’t believe how spaced out the riders were for such a small track, might be rose tinted glasses but I never remember the racing being so processional back in the day, Armadale was one of my favourite tracks in the 90s, loved racing there and always thought the racing was close

Tie is effectively over after tonight’s match. Edinburgh totally out gated the Bears and most races could have been awarded after the first lap. Was an awful watch as a Bears fan.

Bears will struggle again tomorrow given the injuries and lack of suitable guests.

Flint in as guest for Kerr.

If Sam and Josh can each get 10 points tonight then the other five Monarchs are only left with the task of trying to rack up 17 points to see the team through. Should be well within the grasp of the riders but the reserves have to turn up and not rely on the top order to see them through. It's looking like a Leicester/Edinburgh - Poole/Glasgow semi-final affair in my opinion and i don't envy Glasgow having to face Poole at all because despite Leicester finishing top of the league they haven't impressed me like Poole have impressed me on their day and the Pirates seem to be building to a really big crescendo at the moment. I still pray it will be a Glasgow/Edinburgh final though, that would be amazing.

Edinburgh are the dark horses for sure! I would still like a Poole Vs Edinburgh final as teams are built quite similar. Also aggregate from league is level.

Still get good meetings and good racing just not as much these days unfortunately since doc retired from doing the track.

Think most fans would agree, the racing has deteriorated in the last few seasons.(various reasons I assume).

Edinburgh live text suggests he was knocked off? I’m not watching, was he?

There was no contact - Josh said that himself. He was mightily pumped up for the heat and I think it was just the adrenaline. He felt he wasn't left enough room, I think it was OK and he just got a bit too much grip.

The exclusion of Lasse in heat 11 was completely wrong though.

Edinburgh have been pretty good. Sam and Josh both riding as well as you'd expect, great contributions from Lasse and Kye as well.

Congratulations to the Monarchs for progressing, but that was a good effort from the Bears tonight. As expected, too much to pull back after last nights poor display.

With a full team, or more choice of guests, I think it would have been much closer.

Hopefully the Bears can get everyone back  for the KOC final.
