Poole v Plymouth, play-off quarter final 2nd leg, Weds 14/09/22

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to expecting Poole at Ashfield sometime around Christmas. Should be a good match. Definitely the team to beat in my eyes, given the heat leaders, but always interesting given how strong the Glasgow reserves are, especially at home.

Although in all honesty, not a lot between the top three in the league. Redcar and Edinburgh both capable of spring a surprise as well.

Good to see a contingent of Plymouth fans on the second bend.

I thought the meeting itself was far better than the scoreline. Summers was a decent guest and got Plymouths only heat winner in heat 14 with a third to first ride. Good stuff. Complin was also very good value with his around the fence rides, which worked at times and didn’t in others.

What was it with Hans in heat 13 that he fenced Flint down the back straight on lap three for third when the Poole riders were well gone? Flint certainly displayed his displeasure at Andersens actions.

The result was as expected looking at the strengths of the two teams. Our top three were untouchable.

Special mention to Nathan Ablitt who was named rider of the night for his ride in heat 12. He was unlucky in heat two when he tried to go around the outside of Complin but was squeezed against the fence which sent him to the back.

Maybe Hans is not on a Guarantee.

Hans of old that one! Prob just needs some points money. Not seen Flint say anything on SM about it.

Was watching Andersens scoring and he seemed he had it in his head that he didn’t want any last places, which he succeeded in doing. Flint might have said nothing online but his mannerisms on track were clear.

Hans has always a rider who “puts himself about”Team mate or not.

Don't be daft. You are definitely playing it down for Plymouth. Not as strong as when you got the draw at Poole but May has chosen good guests who he knows are pretty good at Poole. As everyone knows anything can happen in the playoffs and it usually does!

With rain over last couple of days hopefully will produce good racing.

Not so daft after all...

Out of interest - working on the assumption Poole won't blow a 30-point lead in the second leg, who would Poole fans rather face in the semi-finals, and why?

Well.....

We beat Glasgow at home and drew there but we lost at home and away to Leicester!!

So I'd go Glasgow;)

Given we've no had a meeting in about 6 months and carrying injuries I fancy we won't be going any further than the semi's no matter who we end up with
