…..He sold Torquay a few months back now and wrote off all of the loans/millions of losses he made.

He put them into administration.

Yes and thereby writing off the money he was ‘owed’ back by the club and paid for the administrators until buyers were found.

I’m not a fan of his or what he did at Torquay and previous clubs but I think it’s important to be factual and acknowledge that he did put millions into that club (albeit had a motive of selling the land which didn’t pay off)

Has the Speedway Star ever done a (honest) few pages on Clarke Osbourne's speedway track record. That would make very interesting reading.

Has the speedway star ever done an honest few pages on the people who run the sport track record? that would make a really interesting reading, speedway’s demise is 90% self inflicted, Osbourne as immoral as he may be is a business man and his business is in a far better state than ours

I expect the next stage or part of the con is to make people believe that Speedway will happen at the new site so it's allows the Abbey to be built on before finding problems to stop them building this new track and Stadium .it's hardly a new plan from gaming..The bit that's makes me laugh is why and how  would gaming fund this? At the end of the day they went to the Brandon enquiry saying that a similar project was not viable  but now somehow this is.. The only hope for this is that Gaming have promise funds to Terry for this project for his help in letting them  built on the Abbey site.No matter if the new site is built I won't be going or giving any money to Osbourne or Russell. They  are a pair of scumbags.

I’m sure Osbournes lawyers are primed for that to happen.

Very true...

Private Eye may be a better call though...

They know how to say everything without saying anything...😀

They love a good council/developer story...

It just shows what the houses are worth to him, to spend money on this charade til he gets what he needs. Just like the Racino story in Reading...

Thanks for that. I've downloaded and will take a look.

One of the most obvious initial questions (assuming we accept in the first place that it a genuine proposal - which I have doubts about) is where are people going to park? Only 200 spaces in what looks a fairly rural location. Hopefully that is all in hand

The talk is start small and get big . Also going on about a bus service etc etc .. all garbage of course but i thought are give you the official line .

On another note land surveyors were at the Abbey today . When ask what they were doing said the site had been sold off for housing ... Gaming int final plan is in full swing . Next stop is  to fool more suckers tomorrow .

To give him credit(if that's the right word  ) he really good at this game . the lengths   he go's to play out his charade are amazing at times . Tomorrow could be his crowning glory .

I don't know about other people but i got to thinking sometime ago that he's gets some sadistic pleasure out of this as well making money .

The new site will be lauded as the next "great white hope" plans will be made looking forward to a positive outcome, meanwhile Abbey stadium will get demolished and housing built way before any infrastructure goes up at the new site, then there will be  a reason the new site cannot be completed, take your pick bats, newts, wild flowers, natterjack toads. etc. etc.

Maybe there just are not enough cynical people in councils and governments with the b***s to say build the new stadium completely and get it up and running before you destroy the old one , any verbal agreement from the developers is not worth the paper it is written on, and most of the agreements/guarantees written on paper are worthless as well

This may not make me particularly popular but the saying "play the ball not the man" comes to mind.

Granted, no Team I have supported or particularly followed has been blighted by Clarke Osbourne.

However, as a Brummies fan about to lose PB who has also over the decades watched a lot of Speedway at Monmore, Cradley, Coventry and Stoke to name but a few, I have to say that IF any of those Clubs (or others like Lakeside as an example) came up with what is actually IN those proposals, I'd be very very excited.

The location ticks many boxes, the shared sporting use and business use ticks many boxes, it offers hope, which supporters of many closed Tracks don't have.

The bottom line is that if CO was not linked to this then what would the reaction be.

Hope springs eternal!
