having assured Swindon council a replacement track is on its way permission will be given to raze the Abbey, after that who knows. I wouldn't hold my breath tbh. Keep doing the Euromillions

Thats my concern, I won't believe it until they have built it

Seems a good step forward. This looks like the start of the formal planning process. Exciting times for Swindon and speedway!

Hope all Swindon fans back the project.

Sounds almost as good as the Reading "Racino" and the "Greatest Speedway Stadium of the modern era at Bristol"*

Of course, once the Abbey Stadium is finally demolished, it will be discovered that this new site is the home of a rare species of squirrel which can't be disturbed, and sadly the new stadium can't be built..

Nothing like a good dose of negativity in speedway!

The Chancellor said this week that animals won’t stop building projects going forward 👍

Planning permission is far from a fully functioning sports arena.

There was planning permission at Reading they even went as far as producing a scale model but never was a digger seen near the site.

Clarke Osbourne is a con man & he has well & truly conned Terry Russell who I suspect at this stage has to much invested in the project & fears the embaressment of admitting he has been conned

There is a website up for those who haven’t seen it

www.swindonmotorsports.co.uk/

I really hope it goes ahead, but I have 2 concerns just based upon what I can see from the drawings only: the road and only planning for 200 car parking spaces when they plan to have:

‘A multi-use events arena with an expandable capacity of up to 3,000.’

Perhaps someone could shed more light.

I thought 24 year old Clarke Osbourne was the office boy @ Bristol in 1977?

May be he would also like to tell us how he "took control" of Torquay United F.C. & was so successful!

I think it's fare to say Mr Osbourne sees 95% of us as gullible fools.
