Leicester v Poole, KO Cup Semi-final,1st leg Sat.10/09/22

Recommended Posts

A decent meeting as a neutral, but not enough of a lead for the Lions. On a side note, some of the behaviour of the Poole fans were disgraceful. One in particular shouted, with children around “Get your bike off the track you f*cking idiot” whilst Nick Morris lay on the track. On three occasions, they also went into the safety zone, including once when the bikes were on track.

Apart from that, there was some good racing. Roll on Edinburgh  next week in the play offs.

Pirates are riding far better than when Leicester came to us and won. And it looks after tonight we are heading to Glasgow in the playoffs, as I said a few weeks ago.

Would Leicester risk chosing us in the semi finals?

Hope Nick Morris is OK.

Stewart Dickson confirmed tonight that Leicester will be riding against Edinburgh next week.

Obviously they don't like cheats?

Howarth rightly aggrieved after first running of heat 13, Morris stuffed him good and proper when Leicester gated on a 5-1 they were more than capable of holding onto, that's possibly going to be costly in the final reckoning.

Spot on

All the posts from people there said Poole had worked to ease through to a dominant 5-1 when Morris fell, causing a rerun. Without the fall Poole would have won the meeting.

Perhaps some Poole fans were infuriated on what they saw as gamesmanship? It certainly worked as Howarth gated to win a rerun he was no where near winning first time around?

So who was on a 5-1? Leicester fans sound like it was them but Steve saying it was Poole?

Poole were on a 5-1 in heat 13. Otherwise what would Poole fans be shouting for Morris to clear the track?

From Poole Twitter:

Heat 13 Pirates edge into first and second but Morris takes heavy fall off turn 4 and race stopped.  To be rerun without Morris and after fence repairs

Lions gated on a 5-1 but Morris stuffed Howarth on the 2nd bend to let both pirates through up the inside, Morris then binned it on bend 4.

In the rerun King gated and Howarth only passed him right on the line, tbh I thought King had just held on.

Why would Poole fans be shouting at a rider who had taken a high speed crash to clear the track under any circumstances? What's wrong with them?

Leicester hadn't ridden at home since August 6th I see, that score smacks of rustiness although Poole are built to always keep the scores close away from home.

Glasgow in a very similar boat for the Play Offs, puts teams at a massive disadvantage for key meetings.
