Tatum Talks Podcast

Recommended Posts

Just a heads up in case you're not seen it around already, but Kelvin Tatum has a brand new podcast of his own and is available now!

First guest is Dan Bewley, and we talk with Dan for just over an hour about all sorts.

If you click this link it will take you to whichever app you choose >> TATUM TALKS PODCAST  (Apple, Amazon & Spotify are defo working, Google Podcasts can be hit & miss but that's their end not ours!)  Subscribe on whatever app you use and you won't miss anything.

There is also a "Short Version" 20 mins or so on YouTube,  but for the full goods you need to listen to the podcast..!

The idea is to just be able to talk for longer than is allowed for TV, and for Kelv to be able to explain further what happened in various incidents, and to have time to give his opinion and reflect on the big events he's been to.

The plan is to do them as and when we can really, probably around GPs and the playoffs but we'll always make sure we have a quality guest as we have with Dan!

Hope you enjoy it!

Yet another podcast ,same old same old, unless you’re going to be controversial and have on controversial guests we seen and heard it all before,,quite frankly I’m bored at hearing about getting the “right set up “ not for me I’m afraid and it’s not a dig at Dan or kelvin

I have to say I, too, used to find it tiring when riders constantly talked about getting "the right set up" or other such technical issue. Personally I think fans don't generally want to hear about the mechanical part of the sport but more of the human touch. One reason I gave up watching sport on TV because of the over emphasis on tactics and constant replays of the same bit of action taken from different angles and "experts" babbling for all they are worth!

I agree

Tbh it was Chris Harris that done it for me with this constant set up stuff. Self protection really. Nobody ever just had a bad race, it was always the set up to blame

Some miserable old buggers on here... somebody has taken the time and trouble to create some extra Speedway content for fans to listen to, costing him time (and probably money), just comes on here to publicise it and all anybody can do is be negative about it.

If you don't want to listen to this FREE podcast, don't download it, move along. Why would you not want to listen to Dan Bewley talk about his maiden GP win and his career in Speedway?

How about giving it a listen before condemning it?

Come on cheer up fellas, you're better than this :)

Because it’s been done before by god knows how many people, the sport is full of podcasts, I’ve even been on one, there is nothing new, it’s all very tame and the same questions because nobody wants to step outside their comfort zone, there is nothing wrong with podcasts but be different otherwise we heard it all before, how about getting somebody on who isn’t afraid to call out the idiots running the sport (into the ground) I might tune in then otherwise it’s no from me

That's fair enough, we're all entitled to our opinions... just don't know why you'd come on here and rubbish a podcast you'd not listened to.

My comment was not directed at Kelvin Tatum or podcasts but just a response to Dean's observation about riders constantly referring to "set ups".

Tbh there is a German podcast started this year and I haven’t heard a single one because the last thing I want to hear is speedway riders talking , just like whilst I love football I don’t much care for footballers being interviewed. And I came to this conclusion due to the experience of hearing loads of footballers saying the same things

You mean "he was the best player on the park"?

I'm okay with riders talking about "set-ups", but I wish they would actually explain WHAT their set-up is, and HOW and WHY it works for them.

It's like the first thing interviewers always ask a rider; "How did you find the track?"

We did that with the BIKERfm speedway show with a 20k listenership every Tuesday.  Then I was told to choose between hosting the show or lose my licence to be a Centre Green Announcer :(

About right...

I would suggest UK Speedway has many more followers than actual attending fans...

With many thousands still passionate about the sport but feel they cannot support such a ludicrous operating model with their hard earned..

Or cannot attend on the restricted nights their clubs run...

Circa 15,000 a week (optimistically), attend the sport I would say if 15 meetings were ran, 20,000 a week listened to you...

With a regularly growing listenership...

No publicity is bad publicity, (it is better to be talked about than not talked about when in the public eye), and sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la laaaaa, I can't hear you!" when getting some unsolicited databased feedback is never a great idea when in business..

But it is "gold" if you have an open mind and are humble enough to accept it at face value, as it will accelerate your growth tremendously...
