Scunthorpe vs Leicester 02/09/22

Recommended Posts

Was thinking of going (starting from the Birmingham area) but I'll be taking an empty car. Anyone else fancy going and sharing petrol costs?

Hope Lambert is not having intermittent carb problems tonight like he did Saturday. Will need a full check over, even if it could be our last meeting. Wright unsure but maybe out his depth.

Douglas came off at Sheffield but back for re-run. A test for tomorrow with, hopefully, no ill effects.

This could be up to an 8 point win either way, although the outcome is unlikely to be of any significance. It would be good if the Lions middle and lower order can show that they can contribute away from BP ready for the play offs, even though Scunny is not a track they will visit again this season.

Hopefully everyone in the Lions camp will rally around Joe to help him overcome his dip in form. His points contribution for the remainder of the season will be important. If Joe can at least maintain his current average, I would be quite confident that silverware will be coming to BP this season. Recent performances suggest that others outside of the top three will be at the party. He may only be 18 but he will not like the idea that he may be considered a passenger. Come on Joe, one last push!

Joe will come of age one day. He's struggling but at home he's still a real asset. Think next year a move away could benefit him for his development

Well he was at Brum on Wednesday where he outscored Dan, Kemp, Edwards, Bailey in the under 21s

He did very well on Wednesday, much better than I expected... but by my reckoning he's ridden his bike competitively 3 times in the last month

About time you got into reality. Joe is consistently bad, how you can defend that is beyond me. Yes he is consistent in the cubs but it’s a completely different thing. Always the bridesmaid never the bride in the championship.  He has made no progress this year, in fact he has gone backwards. You can deny it to yourself all you like

You're not wrong. But some of us wish to put our proverbial arm round the lad. Those close to him have said that his head's not in the right place and i guess it can't help being constantly compered to his brother. He is clearly a better rider at Championship level than his current form suggests.

Come on Joe, we know you have it in you.

A 2022 average of above 5 isn't too bad is it? Put 1 and a half points on his starting average... he'd be knocking on the door of being a heat leader at some clubs!

You can’t compare Joe to Dan, they are miles apart in terms of ability. Unfortunately there always seems to be an endless list of excuses for Joes dire performances.  He doesn’t need an arm round him he needs a kick up the arse. He’s had 1000’s invested into him it’s time he payed that back. How he’s still at Leicester I’ll never know
