Will the Panthers get anymore League points in the matches they have left to run ?

Peterborough's totally dismal season as defending champions thankfully will be over in just 17 days after today's match with Sheffield  weather permitting of course

I don't think that many Panthers Fans  seriously believe that we have  much of a chance  in this meeting.

Not going by Thursday. Panthers were as usual as big a strangers to their own circuit after a long long break as were the visitors. Added to that a track that they couldn't race on as well as turning out a poor side which had defeat written all over it. This is a different kettle of fish and if they answer the questions from Thursday than they've every chance. Harris has to show the speed and aggression so sadly lacking on Thursday. Lawson has to deliver as his recent score indicate he should. Nicholls particularly needs a big meeting and they all need to be competitive in the first 30 yard & first turn. Most importantly,  don't get yourselves 12 points down after5 race.

I don't think the change in the track surface has helped the Panthers.  Gate and go was never going to help them and I think the clay surface makes for worse racing.  Luckily Harris' gating has been better this year and he has been a shining light.  Injuries haven't helped.

Is Jordan Jenkins fit or well for today?  He dropped out of the Oxford side on Wednesday, rode for Peterborough on Thursday then was missing for Oxford again yesterday.

Obviously the Peterborough & Redcar promotions clearly don’t give a damn about Jordan’s welfare as he was advised by health professionals at the hospital not to ride speedway as the result of an abdominal strain. Although he rode on Friday for Redcar carrying this injury but then missed yesterday’s meeting for Oxford at Mildenhall. He is then surprisingly declared to ride for both clubs on Monday & Tuesday this coming week.

Jack Smith in for Jenkins.

So OK, common sense prevails & I will apologise to the Peterborough promotion for doing the right thing, but let’s see if Redcar do likewise tomorrow seeing they have an important potential play off position to fight for. Also for Jordan he needs to consider that he has the British U21 Championship Final on Wednesday & has an excellent chance of making the rostrum.

Ref in the pits at the interval, assume he's talking exploding tyres!

Ref now heading back to the pits for more tyre talk. Sweet Caroline playing over the PA to keep the crowd "entertained"

In 45 years of attending Speedway I've never seen a tyre disintegrate, blow and hit the following rider... at least they're cheap

Nicholls and Lawson have also suffered punctures tonight.
