All these Lynn fans going on about how good it was, well yes admittedly you can only beat the team infront of you but look at that panthers team, half of them aren’t worthy too wear the race jacket

They did you proud last season!!  If I was a Boro fan I'd want to know what's gone wrong, injuries have obviously played a big part .....

When I arrived at the track around 5pm, the track staff were just getting access to it as it had been too wet to do anything with, the surface was bladed off and they all restarted laying a fresh surface with additional new material, once relaid it looked quite good but very grippy, once the riders and management s looked at it, it was all bladed off again, difficult to imagine who requested that.

But that left it slick with pretty much nothing left and a trappers paradise, times were good but the racing was complete shyte and didn’t suit anyone on the home side other than Basso who was riding with a shoulder injury.

It certainly didn’t suit Bomber and with Andersen and Nicholls on their usual steeds it was very predictable which way this match would go.

For the record I still don’t think Lynn will make the Play offs

Just to slightly amend your statement, it definitely wasn't slick after it was bladed, actually quite the opposite. Granted it didn't make a dirt line around the wide outside but from curb to over half way across was very grippy.

Where?

The Play Offs are long gone, it's about riding into some form for the cup final IMO.

It seems to me that trying to place any firm parameters on rain-offs is futile. Local knowledge is the vital thing - stadium access, track conditions, machinery available (and if it can actually get on the track) all point to what might be possible. Add in weather forecasts and the financial considerations I outlined above.

In the end the buck stops with the Promoter, who has to make a decision* - right or wrong. I’ve postponed meetings that could in the end have been raced, and not postponed ones that led ultimately to either a very late call off or an abandonment.

The one thing I hope we all agree on is that in the current climate no Promoter can afford to incur all the fixed costs of a meeting without a high level of assurance the meeting can be staged.

* Prior to the arrival of the referee who then assumes the role of decision maker.

I can't understand why there is not a league policy regarding postponements and cancelations as it's such a contentious issue. Just in the last week or so we've had Poole vs Redcar doing everything to get a meeting on, KL calling a meeting off over 24 hours in advance based on an incorrect weather forecast of just showers, Plymouth cancelling in front of a packed crowd without a wheel being turned and Peterborough running last night when in all probability they should have cancelled. There is just no consistency.

I posted my previous thoughts about a cancellation policy that should be adhered to so everybody knows where they stand. Now I've had a proper chance to think about it, this is probably what I should have posted:

1 No meeting to be called off until the day of the meeting (9am, 10am whatever... not a day or days in advance)

2 The meeting should be called as "on" or "off" 90 minutes before the start time at which time the ref, both team managers and both team captains have passed the track as "fit for racing for the scheduled start time". As long as there is no more "weather" in the next 90 minutes the meeting should commence at the scheduled start time or the fixture is abandoned or run as an unofficial fixture and some kind of points penalty awarded.

I thought the track was fantastic considering, Buster did an absolutely cracking job once again! He wasn't going to be at the showground yesterday, but obviously he was needed to come to the rescue after the rain (and I'm glad he did!)

100% I couldn’t agree with that anymore if I tried. But how has it gone so badly wrong? Harris has been a lot lot better this year, basso has replaced pedersen and then some because bjarne wasn’t riding that brilliant last season. What’s p*ssed me off is we simply aren’t told hardly anything

This is why the sport as a whole needs a call off policy... no call offs prior to 10 am on the day of the match, if you don't call it off at 10am you then can't call it off before 6pm... or something like that

No it doesn't. It just needs common sense, effort and will to get the meeting on when possible without excuses that don't stack up. When you're not doing the organising and paying the bills though then logic and solutions usually come easy. I wish they'd called this off at 10am in the morning. I also gave £50 to the collection but I thought that it was collection to take the mic off the bloke making all of that noise pollution up to about 7.10, as well as locking the DJ in the bog for the evening!

Like many of the track lights. Counted them last night: 4 poles of 6 lights with a 3rd of the lights either turned off or fused. None of the three bulbs lighting up (or not in this case) bend four were working.

That was being talked about last, but as they say until a contract is fully finalised for next year they are not going to replace lights unless they have to because of cost

If they had raced on the track they produced it after a lot of work it probably would have done but clearly they decided otherwise.

The circuit they raced was as slick as sandpaper and wasn’t conducive to good racing, just gate and go.

But if that’s what your used too and like then fair enough but at Peterborough we like proper racing.

It's not new though as various lights have been out for ages. It's just that last night it seemed to be as bad as I'd seen it. It's a health and safety issue at the end of the day so cost doesn't usually come in to it and it's an on the day issue, irrespective of what happens next year. If there was a big crash on bend 4 & someone said that they didn't see a rider or bike for instance, imagine the problem that the 3 lights being out covering that area could cause? I guess everything is above board though as the ref is in charge, he says go and it's on his shoulders if it goes wrong.

They did Theresa but this year Ostergaard Nicholls and Andersen have been awful, Palin wasn’t much better before he got injured and then MPT then got injured, last year we coped with the injuries but this year it’s been a catalogue of misfortune and injuries. It takes its toll.

The track yesterday was dreadful and as has been said had no outside line at all, wasn’t helped by a couple of fliers from Jorgensen that surprisingly was allowed to go on from Tony Steele or his trainee.

Let’s hope it’s rectified for 2023.
