Championship League Riders' Championship at Poole

Recommended Posts

Just seen the line-up  for the CLRC:

1 Michael Palm Toft (Plymouth)
2 Leon Flint (Berwick)
3 Lewis Kerr (Redcar)
4 Ryan Douglas (Scunthorpe)
5 Nick Morris (Leicester)
6 Danny King (Poole)
7 Chris Harris (Berwick)
8 Richard Lawson (Poole)
9 Scott Nicholls (Oxford)
10 Justin Sedgmen (Birmingham)
11 Charles Wright (Redcar)
12 Sam Masters (Edinburgh)
13 Troy Batchelor (Oxford)
14 Craig Cook (Glasgow)
15 Josh Pickering (Edinburgh)
16 Kyle Howarth (Leicester)

As a Glasgow fan I can't believe we have only one rider listed.

It cant be on averages as there are several riders from various teams who have higher averages who are omitted too.

Tom Brennan, Ben Basso and Uli Oostergaard are all worthy of a place so unless they have been declared unfit you have to wonder why and with Glagow at Plymouth the previous evening there are bound to be some die-hard Tigers fans around.

Perhaps they don't want them getting more laps at Poole with the play-offs coming up?

I believe it's a Wednesday night now? Suspect that's why no basso. Of the riders listed think Tom's average might only be higher than Leon's and batch.

You sound a bit silly there, Basso is injured, Ulrich is injured, and Brennan has a lower average than Flint and Batch, as already stated. And as much as I love to bash Poole, what have they got to do with it, they don’t decide who’s in it

Flint (6.72) is higher than Brennan (6.62).

(Batchelor at 6.65 just scrapes in)

So assuming Basso is unavailable there is simply no reason to select a second Glasgow rider.

Cheers knew wasn't much in their averages. If I was to guess I'll say Tom will end up Glasgow's representative anyway

And to be honest I'd prefer to see Tom rather than Cook or Batchelor.

Steve Worrall not riding? Didn’t think his injury was more than a bruise on the shoulder.

Believe the selection criteria is based on highest GSA  rider available of each team, then the remaining six slots are allocated to the 2nd highest GSA riders per team.

As Poole already have King & Lawson in the field, Worrall is therefore ineligible as he must 3rd highest GSA for Poole.

As Worrall was at number one for the Pirates on Wednesday, he surely is the Pirates highest in the current GSAs.

Steve's average is 8.48, Richard's is 8.14 and Danny's is 8.29 atm or are they using averages at start of 2022? Though pretty sure he started at no1, so should have had the highest average then too!

They are not the GSAs. You need to look at Issue 20 on the 2022 Declarations section.

Lisa-Collette is correct.

Appreciate I've looked at the wrong info but imo there shud only be one average.

All this GSA, Ave, Rolling Average, etc etc then u see unofficial etc etc all very confusing for my noggin.

U see an average in the programme, the speedway star, on the British Speedway website etc etc & they're all different.

But also add in when was the cut off point for the Champ Riders averages.

I need a whisky & I don't even drink whisky !

Don't get in a stew Turnip or you'll end up in the soup.

Forget the soup, those root vegetables make a very passable whisky type wine (assuming you keep it long enough, which I haven't, generally )

Hey, this is better than talking about averages or Poole, for that matter :D
