While it has saved the BSPL from a big loss from a one off at a neutral venue, the three extra heats and travel costs for seven extra visitors, when compared with a standard league meeting, mean it's not going to be a pot of gold for the three teams staging a home round.

That would depend on how well these teams promote their home round.  To locals, who hopefully dont follow this forum any too closely.....

Beirao (aka Sargent Nicholas Angel) is played by Simon Pegg in the following scene. The community is made up of Poole, Glasgow & Leicester supporters!

I should imagine it will be big crowds at each leg of the final. Great decision from the BSPA. Be lucky to get 800 at Sheffield. Will be 2000+ at each venue in the final.

So the three teams in the final have worked out a way more of their supporters can see part of the final, and i would imagine make more money out the final as well

think these three teams need to be in charge of how the league is run

Meanwhile the rest of the sport takes August, September & October off!

How many fixtures is that?

Agreed. The problem is that it is the same three teams most of the time so Leics, Glasgow and Poole will see plenty of action and if the weather turns fixture congestion, but the likes of Birmingham, Berwick and (unless they scrape 6th for a play- off place) Scunthorpe are almost over.

There are only 10 Teams in the league. If it wasnt for juggling fixtures to suit riders foreign and grass track commitments,it would be very a short season for some. That’s the state of the sport in GB.Gone are the days of weekly fixtures.

For once I think the issue has been the exceptionally good weather... most of the foreign leagues are wrapping up and the riders in the poorer European teams not involved in their pay offs are all of a sudden rolling up on our shores looking for a job... and we've no fixtures to give them!

We have no fixtures due the decline of Clubs in GB.That’s not going to turn round any time soon.

1 League with riders who are available and committed to GB speedway( although it would probably mean a lower standard to begin with would be a starter) but we know that will never happen. So we will just muddle along.

Not entirely true, while there are fewer clubs in the UK, it doesn't stop clubs running extra competitions

Not entirely true either because the riders aren’t available a lot of the time.Lot of them still involved in lower leagues in Poland. It’s not unknown for Clubs to use guests though in GB.

Haha! That's an understatement!

There's only been 22 postponed fixtures all season (so far)
