Absolutely ridiculous, the result should be only a matter of days surely, Ben, if innocent has lost a lot of earnings because of this fiasco, if guilty the. He deserves the outcome but at least let the guy know one way or another

Yes , what if innocent could he claim for loss of earnings and from whom, BSPL, SCB?

It did say in last weeks SS that it could be from pain killers he was taking?

Can someone tell me how long it is to get a sample back as from tomorrow Ben Barkers is 14 days ?

I don't think the result is the issue. Don't think any dispute he's had something in his system legal or otherwise. It's whether the bspl are accepting of his explanation or not that is what's probably causing the delay imo

Ben failed a drugs test & will be banned so he is not losing earnings nor can he have any claim to compensation.
The B sample taken is merely to dictate what illegal substance was in his system to then decide what form of punishment will be handed to Ben.

If its recreational or performance enhancing drugs then his ban will be much longer then if it was an excess or banned painkillers.

Some painkillers are banned in sport on safety grounds due to side effects such as drowsiness which is far from safe & endangering the other 3 riders on the track at the time so it’s reckless to sign into a meeting as safe to ride if you have taken such strong painkillers which won’t go in Ben’s favour.

Anyone competing in sport should av a liddle common sense to check that even if they take a cold medicine it doesn't contain anything on the banned list.

Surely it's as simple as asking the speedway powers that be or the organisation that deals with sport testing can I use a certain product for example a cold.

Not rocket science is it?

Common sense is no longer common.

He’s not innocent though he failed a standard test.

He didn't fail a standard test, his test was not negative.

That may well be beaurocratic nonsense.

But he hasn't tested positive or negative until the results of the tests are proven and publicised.

His test was non negative. Which is a diplomatic way of saying it was positive. If it was inconclusive he would have been asked to take another test.

Nobody can come on here & defend Ben , he broke the rules (knowingly or unknowingly) so now must serve his punishment.

Whilst on the subject of barker over the weekend I learnt that drug tests have to random, even if someone gives a name of a rider that is suspected of taking drugs to the testers they can’t target that rider, I suppose they could say it was random but they know a certain rider was in a certain race or meeting
