chunky
I've received an email from someone asking me about a "European Championship" held at Ostrava on September 28, 1947. Obviously, it was an unofficial championship, but it was mentioned in Basse Hveem's book. Eric Chitty was second, Hveem third, and Karl Killmeyer fourth. It was won by one of the Craven brothers, and I assume it was Malcolm. Can anyone confirm, or provide any additional info, please?
Bavarian
This "European Championship" at Ostrava certainly was an unofficicial event. It may have been an attempt by the Czechs to revive the pre-war European Championship meetings that were held at Prague in the late 1930's. https://speedwaychampions.yolasite.com/european-champions.php
