Can’t make it? Stream it. Extra money going to the promotion. Large chunk of income being missed out on by Brum promotion.

Only a portion of what they’d get if you actually paid on the gate.
“Can’t make it” sounds a good argument, until you consider “won’t go as I can stream it”.
Even worse when there’s a number who “won’t go” and watch it together on the same stream.
Sorry, but it’s just further damage to an already battered sport.

Can't remember a season like it for number of guests at every meeting. Must be some kind of record.

Ruml at least is value for money, very entertaining.

Never been so many !with the amount of double up and down going on was always going to happen. With Newcastle sadly closed still not enough uk based riders to fill 14 teams !

So according to Pirates website preview, the Brummies team for Friday reads as follows:

1.r/r; 2.Neilsen(if fit); 3. Starke (Guest); 4. Morris(if fit); 5. Sedgeman; 6. Bowtell(Guest - if fit); 7. Morley (Guest).

No indication of what happens if fitness tests are failed?!

ps. I shall be taking a couple of extra pens for the programme changes!!

NB. Poole have r/r for Kemp at 2 and Connor Coles guesting for Ablitt at 7.

Bowtell biggest doubt! Was told he was on gas and air with broken ankle? Maybe not broken after all?

I feel more sorry for Poole than Birmingham. If there was ever a reason to cancel a match for anything other than the weather then this is it

Set fire to all the spare programme's at the end of this meeting and put them in an urn. It can then be kept as a memorial to the passing of Team Speedway in the UK.

I was hoping we could have celebrated 100 years of team speedway soon, but it's not to be.

The GI vultures are hovering lower tonight. :(

It clearly reinforces what the promoters think of the competitions they run doesnt it?

Which is...

It isn't about the competitions themselves but simply about "putting some Speedway on"..

Which is fine...

As long as they don't spend much time scratching their collective heads, wondering why tens of thousands of fans who still follow this great sport very closely, give it a collective miss most weeks...

Because simply, if they themselves don't even look like they try to take it seriously, (and meetings being ran like the Poole v Brum one suggests that is definitely the case), then getting fans to believe in it is very improbable..

A shame..

Great sport, really poor operating model..

The idea of running a "Summer Cup" that was then renamed a "Jubilee Cup" in the middle of the League programme because the League programme started too soon and ended too soon now looks to be the joke it is!

In 2019 the season started with "The Shield" (the Summer Cup in another name). The benefit starting with "The Shield" was that it actually attracted good early season Crowds, actually had full strength Teams and delivered some competitive semi-finals later in the summer.  If I remember correctly the infamous Eastbourne v Glasgow match was a Shield semi final - certainly full strength Teams and no lack on intensity in that one was there!

Had they started 2022with The Shield (aka Summer / Jubilee Cup) it would have been taken seriously and led to a more sensible spread of League Fixtures, especially in August!

Not rocket science is it?
