Birmingham vs Oxford 20/7/22 (CJL)

Recommended Posts

WEDNESDAY'S TEAMS:
BIRMINGHAM: Josh Pickering, Stefan Nielsen, Tom Brennan, Ashley Morris, Justin Sedgmen, Alfie Bowtell, James Pearson.
OXFORD: Scott Nicholls, Paul Starke, Jack Thomas, Aaron Summers, Troy Batchelor, Cameron Heeps, Dillon Ruml.

Oxford looking very strong now with their side too little too late however

Are you sure?

That implies:

1) Jack Thomas is fit

2) Oxford have redeclared as he is not currently in their named seven

Confirmed. Thomas rides tomorrow replacing Macdonald in named 7

Glad to see Jack back and its great that Oxford are able to strengthen yet again but as the play off boat has sailed is it just further monies spent for little reward or part of the bigger picture keeping fans knowing the club is ambitious and likely to field an even stronger side next year?

There's a trophy to be potentially won, a stronger team no doubt stands a chance of making the final and going on to win.

Or go down the Newcastle route and put together a weak team and expect miracles.

I know which team build I prefer

Thinking of coming up for this . As I'll be travelling from deepest darkest Wiltshire how's the weather looking? Showers are forecast for about 5pm but only light. That's what the BBC's forecast says anyway but they have been known to be wrong!;) Can anyone provide a more local forecast?

Thanks

Little or no rain in these parts for a week or two, cant see it being any different today the Met office forecast says little or no chance of rain forecast, so Iv no doubt the meeting will go ahead as for the result ? it could go either way but Pickering is riding well and your guys will need to be at their best to get the better of him.

I'd have thought Brum will win by more than that with Tom and Josh in the team!

Told you so:D

Thank you to the three guest riders who racked up 33 out of Birmingham's 46 points.

So, Oxford added Jack Thomas to their team mid-season?  Kind of goes to show what can be done. And yet the Brummies still insist on preferring to hire guest riders rather than fielding their "own" team. :(  The number of times that Tom Brennan has appeared for the Brummies this year, it must seem like he's the nearest there is to a rider that is "trippling-up".

You do realise Jack Thomas has been with Oxford since the season started.

He has been injured but now fit again.

Ive heard awful reports about the Brum track tonight, bald, big holes and largely in a very poor condition.  Meeting dragged out so long that 2nd half abandoned and another nail in the ever inevitable Birmingham coffin.

Shame that, as hasn't the track been good recently. Sure the hot weather hasn't helped. A lot of dust as well according to an Oxford fan.
