Poole Pirates vs Glasgow Tigers 13th July.

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday the Pirates take on The Tigers with Glasgow currently sitting in second place in the league. They are 4 points  ahead with a meeting  in hand.

On  current form they will be favourites to come away with the points.

With ex Pirates Benjamin Basso and Danyon Hume in their team and the likes of Craig Cook,  Tom Brennan,Broc Nicol ,Conner Mountain and Urich Ostergaard they will be a huge test for Poole.

Pirates have a practice lined up tomorrow  to try and get their setup 's right for Wedneday evenings meeting.

Thoughts?

Going on our last 3 home meetings, can't see us getting anything out of this one

Because we are finding it hard to gate. Guess that is what the practice is for. As long as we get to 46, then I'm happy..But 49 would be better!

Very tough one to call, hope we win of course and alot depends on Zach. Kings improved form is encouraging but it seems we always get one heat leader that is struggling,

That is true! But at Berwick they all got around 10 points, so going in the right direction. Feel bad for the trackman, by the time Weds hits, would have had 4 or 5 days of 26/27 degrees :o

a lot will depend on which craig cook turns up .could be a very dusty evening .i think we will win this one :t::t:

Well Craig Cook has pulled out of a guest booking tonight at belle Vue and if he rides like he did as a 'home track specialist' for Team GB on Saturday then I doubt we'll have any problem.

Referee is Christina Turnbull who will also be watching for any rolling starts............!!;)

On our current form I can’t see past a ten point Glasgow win. We are not starting meetings well, give the opposition a healthy lead before we actually start to compete. We are not gating and if you are chasing the opposition out of the second bend you are in for a long night.

It’s strange to see a lacklustre team but that’s what we currently have. Not going to make the final on the form we are currently exhibiting. And certainly don’t seem to have the passion to actually win it this year. Hope things improve but we would need all 6 riders to click to win, and it hasn’t happened for a while. Be nice to be proved wrong.

...plus a full practice session tomorrow (excepting Zach who is in Poland) so I think we just have to accept the track is likely to be hot, ultra slick and dusty for most of the meeting.

Shouldn't be dusty at all or is there a hosepipe ban in Poole, decent track prep should keep the dust to a minimum.  Practice session for the superstars, panic has really set in,showing very little faith in the riders imo.
