iris123
Notable that the entries from around the world have shrunk Always remember Penti Kiski i think his name was with his team of young Finns, who i seem to remember were mostly riding in the Swedish junior league Then the amount of young Aussie talent that came over. Saw Darcy Ward, Arthur Sissis and a host of other youngsters from down under have their first european meetings in this

iris123
I take it some young Finns still ride in the Swedish youth leagues ?
f-s-p
I honestly don't know. Introducing 250cc was the death of Finnish 85cc, since from already few a couple decided to switch, so not enough riders anymore to host 85cc meetings. A couple of kids from Varkaus have been touring the Baltics for 85cc heats in BSL, but don't know anymore about Sweden. Swedish 85cc used to have 100+ riders and in Denmark 150+ for 85cc and also 50cc. About 15 years ago...

In 2002 i think there were very very few. I think Katt did race in Denmark, but that would have been before 2002. All i remember were riders like Sönke Petersen doing 500cc there Wasn't really until the 'Drift Kids' got going, first at Güstrow then moved to Parchim around 2010 that a push towards Danish league 85cc started Edited July 5, 2022 by iris123

iris123
While we are on the topic and because it popped up on my FB timeline. Possibly the last YGT i attended was when Christian Thaysen won at Skaerbaek Wonder what ever happened to him. Plus as far as i can make out Skaerbaek are no longer running ? At least i couldn't see them in the race calendar
iris123
Seems as far as i can see that Thaysen retired in 2019 And at least on FB, the Skaerbaek site has no posts after 2018 , which is a shocker Edited July 5, 2022 by iris123
