This may be a silly question but why do Leicester bring In a guest from another club at home when they have a NDL team of their own? Looks like a slap in the face for a least one of those lads

It is abit cheeky to be honest I don't see why we can't just get Connor Coles as a guest.

Could be because Connor Coles is riding at Berwick, as he has signed for the Scorpions to cover for Ryan Kinsley's long term injury.

Leicester binned Rowe off (or was it the other way around) on June the 2nd, Scunny signed Connor Coles on June the 8th, so it is a slap in the face for Connor Coles and the people that turn up to watch the Cubs under the misapprehension that it's a feeder system for the senior team. There was no Cubs team before the Thompson Twins and you begin to wonder if there'll be a Cubs after the Thompson Twins, they can't ride in that team forever (can they?)

And the Thomson twins are only in the cubs cause they ain't getting regular riders in the prem this year. But it's almost funny watching them go round Leicester with times similar to nick Morris ! God knows what the cubs team will be next year if dan n Joe get prem spots

The Cubs team does seem to exist for one reason only doesn't it.

Correct it does, to develop young British talent like Max Perry this year and Max James next year (or even later this season).

Is Max Perry the lad from Peterborough? A Peterborough asset? Not sure who Max James is signed to? Maybe Leicester? I don't know why we're developing other teams riders

Because British speedway needs a supply of talented young riders, and few tracks have the capacity to provide significant track time to youngsters.

A few weeks ago it was a real pleasure to see Ben Trigger riding against Leicester and witness his progress. It's good for the sport

Neither is an asset of any club as you cannot be an asset until you are 16.

That will be a tough choice for young Max Perry then, Peterborough mascot but a Lion Cub, the decision might be made for him by the time he hits 16 anyway with the latest news about the Showground

There is also the added 'bonus' that there are regular practice sessions/facilities at Leicester.

Quite, It could be a very shrewd long term move offering him a Cubs spot.

The junior match was cancelled at Peterborough the other night because the main match ran beyond the curfew, all those young lads travelled from god knows where... for nothing

And what has all this got to do with Leicester v Birmingham.

Jason Edwards guesting (again) instead of promoting from within, keep up

Connor Coles may have been announced on 8th June but he had already agreed to sign for Scunthorpe on 2nd June. He guested vs Redcar because they couldn’t redeclare in time & he was then announced as a signing.

The idea of NDL is to develop BRITISH young riders regardless of where the come from or wether they are connected to other clubs or not growing up.

Leicester run NDL because they are one of the few that are able to , nobody from the club has ever said its a direct feeder for the Lions. Merely with the chance to develop one of them may become a Lion of the future.

Say we put Tom Spencer in on Saturday . He fails to score & we lost 44-46 . Fans would be going mad asking why we didn’t get the best possible guest (Jason Edwards) to give us the best possible chance of winning.

My original question was why they don't use the NDL team as a direct feed the the championship. Thank you for your answer.
