In cricket, they have a super over.

In NBA, they have overtime.

Kids don't like seeing draws. Speedway is modernising.

That's a terrifying thought to 90% of speedway fans. Most of them are still peed off that Barry Briggs has retired and they've stopped selling dandelion and burdock.

Here s a thought. If we don t want draws at speedway meeting s we could have a super heat after every 3/3 drawn heat .

that would add to the excitement surely.

If we don't want draws, use the scoring system from the pairs. You never have a drawn heat & it should also encourage team riding.

Not in league matches they Don't.Complete balls up imo.I thought the last few years they had got the points system spot on.Rewarding the away team for getting close to the home team or getting a draw or win.Now they have turned a good system into a poor one rewarding(possibly)the home team for getting a draw.

I see many Peterborough fans seem to like it,maybe when the tables are turned they may change their minds. Many neutrals I would say are against it.

I think it’s unnecessary, never liked the 4/3/2/0 scoring system either, glad we won and got some points but I don’t see an issue with a drawn meeting. Think a lot of old school fans will say it’s pointless and unnecessary where as maybe new younger fans might see it as a better idea, I’m on the fence but more leaning towards it’s pointless doing it and should be scrapped

In cricket they have a super over to decide the outcome of a knock-out competition..

In the NBA they have 5 mins of overtime, and repeat the 5 minute periods until a team has more points (they don't introduce a different scoring system).

As with many BSPA/L decisions, it's poorly thought out, and cheap.

If British Speedway wants to modernise, it needs to do a darn sight more than tinker with the regulations ...

Football only have penalty shoot outs in finals.  Rugby codes are happy with draws.  Ice Hockey have a way to do it that works.  Nothing wrong with a 45-45 in speedway.  In 1989 Cradley drew with Belle Vue as a teenage Joe Screen ran rampant at Dudley Wood, never been so happy with a draw!

Winning a last heat decider which is no more than this was essentially is always a buzz.

Agreed.

It isn't.

Penalty shoot outs in finals only? That's not correct.

There are penalty shoot-outs during rounds of cup matches, but you won't find any in league matches.

You got to see an extra heat with quality riders.

value for money I say

Absolutely, but as with Play Offs there will always be two arguments, ie fairness v entertainment. Sheffield should really have gone home with two points and P'boro one but as you say an entertaining sixteenth heat is good for those who were there. I welcome new ideas but I can't see myself being convinced by this one.

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message which includes your mobile number.

Thanks

What a cock the guy is on the updates.

His banter is terrible . Clearly think’s he is funny when he isn’t. He is just as bad on Scorpions TV when he just spends 15 races abusing the riders & fans of their opposition .

So when they ask for a volunteer to do updates who is going to a track, put yourself forward.

Bit rude that! I liked his updates and appreciate someone taking the time to bring them to us.

I for one appreciate anyone who does the updates they do a great service for anyone wanting to keep up with the scores. With me being 50+ years old i can remember waitng up until late hoping the final scores would appear on ceefax/teletext,or having to ring the speedway hotline which would cost you a fortune. Now you can see the scores race by race with comments for free and we get people like you criticising and making terrible remarks like that.

Keep up the good texting all you texters:t:

Tbf to Lenny the same person has been slagging Leicester off on the live stream according to their fans so bound to get their backs up. I'm sure if it was done about KL you wouldn't be happy? But will find out for myself on Friday when Poole are there. Will be going on mute if it gets too unprofessional! :t:

This is also the same guy who basically convinced Godfrey to allow them to stream meetings at Scunthorpe. So you should be thankful to him for you not having to travel 6+ hrs up from Poole and Spend £100+ on Friday night to be able to see the meeting

I will be thankful if I can watch without the club, riders or track being slagged off as what has happened to Leicester fans when they have watched it according to them. I mean he did apologise for it. So we will see on  Friday if he means it or just trying to pacifying the customers.

I don't think it is a lot to ask for. Have watched streams from Poole, Plymouth and Redcar and they don't find it hard to be respectful to the opposition.
