Walk in the park otherwise. Bewley and Lambert seem to be doing likewise in Sweden a few times. If it’s ok for Doyle then our guys should be making the effort to bring their own league up a standard. When the money runs out over there (not Poland) I guess they’ll be back. You must have watched a different Woffinden match to me- May 25th- hardly the other day and he scored 12 from 7 - hardly a walk in the park Edit the other match against Jensen was May 4th and Woffinden scored 13 from 7 - again hardly a walk in the park. THE DEAN MACHINE
Killing team sport using my home town wolves as an example Sam masters rides for Edinburgh .Nick morris rides for Leicester. Ryan Douglas rides for Scunthorpe Steve Worral rides for Poole. Drew kemp rides for Poole .leon flint rides for Berwick, only Luke Becker rides only for wolves, right there is why team speedway has died in Britain, how is anyone new to the sport supposed to follow their club when it’s just a glorified swingers club, speedway has many other issues as why it is dying but as far as team speedway goes this has killed the team concept

I actually forgot who Bomber rides for in Championship the other day and totally mis interpreted a comment someone made to me on updates. The fact is as things are riders love it - double the wage packets with little extra expense - they would not take to kindly to no doubling up! Right there is speedway is run by the riders for the riders, we need to decide are we a team sport or are we a Motox type sport which is a competitor sport not a fan one ? We can’t carry on with this charade posing as team sport when it’s a team sport in name only Edited June 17, 2022 by THE DEAN MACHINE

Explain that to a casual sport fan, whilst retaining some credibility? ch958
we have to look at the riders available to GB.speedway as a whole and find a way forward, whether its 2 leagues or 1. The vital thing for next year, if they do nothing else is give NL boys a way into the second division. Yes, some will say weakening but some of those NL boys will thrive on the opportunity and put on a good show. One thing 1 league will do is give the boys twice the meetings, a chance to score well within those meetings and provide much needed variety to the crowds. Sure there'll be stragglers, 2/3 point averages but there always was. As I said in another post for every Briggs and Mauger there was a Roger Hill or a Ken Wakefield who probably only dreamed of beating the top boys.

The lack of riders is purely down to the BSPA/L there was a structure in place not perfect but far better than we have now when every BL & NL team had a junior side. Most clubs would have a squad of 9 to 12 riders. Plenty to fill in for missing reserves and number 8 to cover Rider replacement. It wasn't perfect but there were certainly more riders and opportunities for riders to race. For several years the NL even managed to run without guests as it was banned, forward thinking or what. Its sad that the reason for the state of speedway in the country is the governing body. You can try and blame the GPs or Poland but the rot set in decades ago.

Riders have been racing for numerous teams for years ..... It does make a huge difference. If you're trying to market the sport to people outside of speedway to ensure its survival, them having to explain that the riders in your team can ride for any other club in the UK under the doubling up/guest regulations & that their performance for a rival club could impact your own season or worse if an injury is suffered. It made a difference to me and many other 1000s who gave up on the sport. And just because it's happened for years doesn't make it right does it?
