I wonder if the big I am will be looking to double down in the National League next season as it seems his days dominating this league have long gone :D .

Cheap shot. The guy served Edinburgh well for years.

Edinburgh deserved the win, can't see us pulling that back as they have good guests, Glasgow looked mediocre to be honest and Pickering, Masters and Thomson are very good. Ruml probably did more than what Sarge would have. Disappointed with our supposedly strong reserves, thought they would have done better

Masters and Pickering were on great form tonight. The night looked bad for the Tigers from the off, with Craig going through the tapes and then Broc replacing him and doing the same. Gating was poor, and most of the boys stuck to the inside when the Edinburgh boys were clearly favouring the outside.

Didn't really understand why we sent Tom out again in heat 15 when Ulle had scored in every ride. He wasn't setting the place on fire, but he was solid.

And whilst it didn't change anything, it's mad that heat 8 is a protected heat (obvs doesn't apply in KO Cup with no tactical subs), yet you can put a better rider in under R/R. Surely it would be logical to make it so that heat can only be covered by the other reserve?

It's a lot to make up tomorrow, but I guess it depends who turns up. All I know is it won't be Chris Harris.

The protected heat 8 rule is pointless when you can put your stronger reserve at number 7 anyway. At least in the Prem it makes more sense as the RS has to be at 7 & gets a protected heat.

Personally I would expect Sarj to be able to at least score 7 from 7 rides! So not much lost or gained there for me.

We went to Workington in Cup a few years ago with a so called “unassailable lead” and got thumped. Sam and Josh couldn’t have done any more last night.

You were saying?

On paper they shouldn’t of been out scored. Ruml was much better than I expected him to be and nicol and Hume both had poor nights.

still at to play for today imo with masters and Pickering missing.

95% of heats at Armadale are won from the gate. That was amateur right through the order.

Is that a statistical fact? I've never felt the need to keep a record of every heat over the course of 25.5 seasons but, if you have, fair play.

Not entirely true.

--‐--‐----------‐------------------------

The first Friday of weatherman summer (don't worry, the official version will be along soon) left yours truly stunned and pleasantly surprised by both the Monarchs display and the half time score.

The soap dodging Tiggers appeared desperate to press the self destruct button from the off, with both Cook and Nicol giving the starting team some much needed practice at replacing the tapes the right way up at the first attempt.

Things didn't improve for the visitors when Danyon went down a canyon in heat 2, the beginning of a frustrating evening for the talented young chap.

Heat 8 saw a tremendous effort from young Ruml, which meant I had to applaud a Yank. Can't say that happens too often.

There were some interesting first turns throughout the night, including heat 11, when Pickering attempted to go by Hook and by Cook in the space of one straight. His mere 50% success rate gave the Tiggers their third and final winner of the evening.

However, young Joshszcz got his revenge on the visiting number one with two unbelievable efforts in 13 and 15, joining Samszcz up front for 5-1's.

I have to say, Masters was imperious last night. Dominant and untroubled. Exactly what I expect every home meeting from the best rider in the league.

After all that,  we're left with a 16 point lead. However, I'm not naive enough to think we'll go through. I  fully expect a 60-30 tonight, accompanied by mucho Weegie chirping. That's cup speedway for you.

Roll on Friday. Not that I'll see it. A lady in the office is emulating her hero, Justin Elkins. At least she lasted 24 years, as opposed to 24 yards...
