Why does everybody hate Poole?

Loads of reasons why a club could be disliked.

Any three or more of those six and the chances are your club is not going to be very well liked.

Cud just be any one of those six to be fair :o

As said above by Marko, most or all are true, my personal hatred to said Poole and Glasgow is the we think we are better than anyone, we will win at all costs, throwing money at teams to win, yes I get it that the promotion can do what they feel is correct for them, but is it good for speedway??

Look at my team won the treble in 2018 but now sadly now more, but was a great season to make H18TORY long live the comets

As predicted, the Workington chip on shoulder appeared after the current promotion took over. Was always very friendly when we "were in our place" losing to the comets home and away every year. Soon as dared look like might have wee bit success whole attitude changed. Never mind that in the Thomas era it was Workington who were doing they very things you "hate" about us

Maybe signed top riders but always ran to a budget, yes higher crowds in them days, from what I'm hearing Glasgow running at a massive loss these past few seasons, but if your owners have deep pockets enjoy the speedway, but until Cammie knickers goes you won't have much success imo

The problem at Workington was that invisible money was thrown at that Comets team in 2018 hence the closure so that wasn't good for speedway, If you can afford to build a strong team that will challenge for honours then why not??

You seem to forget that teams such as Glasgow, Poole & Leicester bring much needed income to club's when they visit their tracks so yes it is good for speedway.

The problem is that some 'promoters' come in on a wing and a prayer just to save a club for the short term without having the financial back up to provide any long term stability. One of those is avin a competitive team, thru finance, which can at least compete at home.

More damage is being done by certain club's in the Championship because of their lack of finance. Question is could they even afford a Kyle Howarth or a Danny King for example if they were available.

I take me hat off to anyone that takes on a speedway club but .......if a job is worth doing its worth doing right, finance is one of those factors.

If u can't do it right don't do it at all.

Why do you hate Glasgow? What have we done to merit such a strong emotion?

To name one.....

Your current manager - I have personally seen this year your manager on his new "perch" shouting abuse and gloating in an unsportsmanlike fashion directed at away riders when Glasgow get a good result. Passion, I am fine with as speedway means a lot to many people and people devote lot of time to the sport but a little bit of decorum and respect to the opposition doesn't go far.

They have the pockets to maintain it so what's the issue? No different to any other sports, except wealthy owners in those sports seen as a positive, but in speedway seems aim has been to chase the facenna's out.

End of the day we can only have 7 riders fitted to a set average to any one time. If we pay more so be it, but that doesn't effect what other clubs should offer so should have 0 effect on the sport as a whole.

Wouldn't have won SON without our owners support imo, only place you'll see test matches in this country thanks to our owners. But they're bad for the sport in this country? Figure that one out

Jaizer agree the people who own Glasgow are doing a lot for speedway, but at great expense yes they can afford it, but some rates they have paid / are paying riders to appear for Glasgow are shocking, ( won't go into figures on here ) but if they want to spend it that's up to them, but you still have Cammie knickers throwing it away :D

I'm not their accountant and nor are you so let's just face it it's all conjecture as to who's getting paid what.

I'll continue to ignore mentions of the "team manager" as my feelings about him will be perfectly clear on other threads

I still find it strange the my club Leicester are a big pull for fans when we visit them. My dad said we were crap for years at blackbird road never won anything. I mean our first silverware EVER was a few years ago.

Leicester, like King's Lynn, in general av never been competitive enough to win things in the top flight such as when they were at Blackbird Road. But they did  av some high profile riders ride for them in the top flight.

Leicester's budget can afford a better number of quality riders in the lower league & now that they av an extremely astute team manager to go with the team they are an attractive team to watch.

Mind yer, they may not look that attractive after me Pirates av finished with em on Wednesday! :D

Neither am I, probably jealousy that we are still going as many opposing fans predicted we would be a car park within 5 years, the fact that we are getting recognised for top FIM meetings, the list goes on, they hate us and Poole for different reasons

I had a Wolves fan shout & scream sum very colourful language at me at Monmore when he shared his thoughts about Poole after Freddie Lindgren had been passed.

Needless to say after this chap's second outburst of beeps the stewards came over & shared their thoughts with him!

Yes, the Pirates won there that evening ahhhhhh bisto! :D

p.s I av no dislike of Wolves because of this, just the one odd ball who thought he was setting a fine example in front of his young son.

Do people hate Glasgow? I dislike them from a rivalry perspective which I think is to be expected. I’d support Glasgow over Poole any day of the week though.
