There is no such rule - it was dropped a few years ago

It was in place last season anyone a rule book to check?

The rule book is on line and I can’t see anything on hair. As I said, I’m sure the rule was dropped some time ago. Similarly, there can’t be any restrictions elsewhere in Europe as Antonio Lindback has had long hair for years.

Rule 04.1/1 instructs that scarves or neckerchiefs must not trail so as to be a possible source of danger.

While not mentioning hair, it is reasonable to assume a referee might consider trailing hair to fall into the same category.

Grey area?

I am surprised that there is not the same rule in speedway as there is for road racing where long hair must be contained within the riders helmet or clothing.

I know you have the cut outs that should kill an engine quickly in the case of a crash to me there is still plenty of risk of long hair getting tangled in moving bike parts and causing a really nasty injury.

Neil Collins wouldn't have liked that rule.
