Guest
Does anyone remember 1953-54 era 'Speedway Star' contributor Fred Philpott who used the pen name 'Ninth Man'? I also think he contributed to 'Speedway News' and 'Speedway World'. Away from speedway he worked full-time for the 'Croydon Advertiser.' I was born in 1958 John, sorry, but my dad may have known, but he has been 6 ft under since 2002!

BL65
Frederick H. Philpott from Southdown Road, Wimbledon, was a regular writer to Speedway Star and his letters were published on the 'Edaches' page. The Star ran a Tell-a-tale competition which Mr. Philpott won. The prize was a regular column in the magazine. He wrote articles under the name 'Ninth Man', with his first column being published in the Star on 17th October 1953. Guest
I wonder what happened after early 1954 to Frederick H. Philpott from Southdown Road, Wimbledon. When did he last have a column in Speedway Star?
