Steve Shovlar
I watched it live and not once did I think TRick ws to blame. At first I thought I must be mistaken as Millard was going on, and when I saw the replay I knew the correct decisions had been made by the ref. After that we found out that Ermolenko and Louis both agreed that all 4 back was the correct and only decision to be made. So my thoughts were completely vindicated and correct. Just a shame he didn't win but gate 4 was a pig and it was lucky he got through to the final given the poor outside. Well done Trick. With a bi more luck it would have been another GP victory. On another note, we clearly saw tonight the difference between Trick and Sullivan. God help all us Pirate fans.
stevehone
I watched it live and not once did I think TRick ws to blame. : i think you'll find a lot of people watched it live Steve and will think TR was lucky on more than one occasion. i admire the way you back Poole (and associates) to the hilt but one day you will have to admit you are wrong. i used to enjoy my Tuesday evenings at Poole, but i feel the bias and arrogance of a select few fans has made me hope Sullivan, Rickardsson and Poole fail in a big way. newjnrfan
CONGRATULATIONS to the one and only LEIGH ''Mr Clean'' ADAMS on winning the 1st GP of 2004 !!! It couldn't have happened to a better rider
jronayne
Brilliant from Lee Richardson! Well done mate, finally coming of age A big well done to Loramski too. By far the most entertaining rider on the night, and i hope your feeling better soon! All in all a good meeting imo. Some processional races but then some very good tight racing from Messers Hancock, Crump and Gollob to name but a few. Roll on the next round James

Sorry you feel that way Steve... For what it's worth we here in the burrow thought Tony was lucky to get back in the first time. The second was more admittedly difficult to call and depended on which angle you saw it from. On any other track who knows what the decisions would have been. Congrats to Leigh anyway - great start to the season for the guy. Crumpy seemed down on power - after his performance on Weds at Poole I'd have put money on him blitzing the whole field tonight. Great to see Lee R and Loramski looking so fired up and geeting so far in the meeting. Just hope Mr Sullivan improves somewhat in his league racing... Guest Shnikies
You must remember that Sullivan has done very few meetings compared to all the top guys. Sweden and Poland have barely started! Sullivan will come good, but Rickardsson is a tough act to follow. Little surprised noone has mentioned the tapes fiasco. It was clear for all to see that they were going up unevenly. Why on earth they didn't do something sooner I don't know! Speedway huh?! Jensen, Gollob and Brhel were all very impressive for me, for one reason or another. On the other side Steele was absolutely 'king pathetic. Some awful decisions, or rather lack of decisions!

Why on earth they didn't do something sooner I don't know! Speedway huh?! totally agree, the ref should of done something about it, it was obvious that there was something wrong when the riders on gates three and four were 3 or 4 bikes lengths infront before the riders on gate 1 and 2 even got out of the start!! and ive never seen riders from gate 1 looking over towards the outside gates when the green light has gone on!! rickardsson was lucky not to be excluded twice!!! referees are sooo unconsistant!! richard williams excludes 2 riders when falling on bend 2! in the gp, tony steele dont edcluded either rickardsson or tomasz gollob on the second bend! GET IT SORTED!!
Steve Shovlar
Strange how different people view it. I thought Steele had a top notch meeting as ref and deserved his place as worlds number one referee. I didn't think there were any really tough decisions though. He called it the same as the guests in the studio, so nothing controversial. If you thought Trick should have been excluded for some reason or another that's your perogative. I Just thank god you are not a ref! Perhaps you should take off your biased specs and view it as a neutral rather than a Rickardsson hater. All in all a good GP. Well done to Adams for the win. As for Sullivan, god help us please. Edited May 1, 2004 by Steve Shovlar

Guest Shnikies
I'm sure most people would agree that there is no such thing as a neutral in speedway! You of all people should know that Stephen! But for the record, I am in no way a Trick hater. Just felt that he was extremly lucky (as do many others on here tonight it seems) and that Tony Steele was appalling tonight. What was your opinion on the tapes malarkey Steve? Just as a matter of interest. But yes it was a good GP. We do finally agree on something! Gemini
Enjoyed the GP tonight and would give it 8/10. Nicki Pedersen gets 10/10 for artistic impression for his spitting and nose blowing, using one finger on each nostril. Very clever as there must be an art to doing this and presumably he has to make sure the wind is blowing in the right direction. I live in hope there might be a sudden change one night. Not sure what to make of Tony Steeles decisions as I felt Trick was lucky to be allowed in the re-runs, but at least it meant we saw four man races so it wasn't an anti-climax, which sometimes happens when a top rider is excluded. Well done to Leigh Adams.
Steve Shovlar
What was your opinion on the tapes malarkey Steve? Just as a matter of interest. I thought the problem should have been pointed out to the ref straight away. The refs box is directly in line with the tapes so he couldn't see it from where he is. An official should have notified Tony Steele, and a small delay would have recified the problem straight away. Only when the meeting got to the final stages was something done, but the riders knew of the problem much earlier in the meeting when you could see them looking over to the outside when waiting for the tapes to rise. Shame none of them called the ref.
Presenter
Nice touch from Jason Crump to point out to Tomasz Gollob with less than 60 seconds left on the clock that his front mudguard was broken. Since when was he a member of the Dark Warriors pit crew. Or was he just trying to get Gollob to ride his less favoured machine and thereby trying to favour himself.... I think we think alike Gem Nicki's nasal activities did not go unnoticed, neither did his wiping the sweat of his armpits and immediately using the same object over his face and head yuk. Custom House Kid
IMHO Steele made life hard for himself ! 1st Rickardsson should have been excluded in heat 20 as i felt he caused the stoppage. He by the way still had another chance in an eliminator In the Semi I felt it was more 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other but as Rickardson got away with it previously then it looked worse I do feel however if either of these incidents would have happend in an Elite league fixture, then an exclusion would have occured on both occasions and not necessarily Tony! We Gemini women notice things like that Addy. I dread to think what Nicki must be like with his personal habits if that's what he does when he knows the cameras are there. I remember him doing a similar thing with a dirty piece of cloth in one of the G.P's last season as well.
