Trees
Must just chuck this idea into the ring As Ole has so much say in the GP, perhaps he had a word in Tony Steele's ear when Tony R had his "problems" ......... who knows Edited May 4, 2004 by Trees
21st century heathen
You have yours, but I wouldn't call your opinion pathetic. On reflection I shouldn't have added that to the end of my post. I had made my point. For that I apologise. I do find it increasing annoying that people seem to be queueing up to have a dig at Nicki whatever he does. Nicki isn't the only person to have ever done it. He just happened to be caught in camera. Like someone else said if the camera had gone up and down the pits you'd have probably turned off! I'm not exactly his biggest fan but I like to watch him at his best. There are few braver, more commited riders than him. I don't want to reopen the Nicki debate so I hope nobody uses my post as an excuse. If he 'just locks up' then he is not fully in control, and it is his own fault if he gets hit. I see what you're saying but I don't think it was that big a lock up that t should have caused a problem. Lindgren(?) had a good view going round the corner, should have seen it coming and reacted. Like I said tough call, but a hrash decision.
rabbit
A terrific meeting on a terrific temporary track. Congrats to Ole and his diddy men for their sterling work. Lets hope it wasn't a fluke and they've discovered the knack. Spot on comments - probably one of the best GPs I've seen on a temporary track. If they can do the same at Cardiff...I live in hope. On the Nicki comment's I have to say that we were killing ourselves laughing when he was there wiping his pits and then his face. One of those classic 'ewwww' and 'I can't believe he just did that' moments I think. It seems people are a little tetchy and over-protective on any comments about Nicki - this is a guy who provokes reaction, that's a good thing, there are not enough characters in the sport and Nicki is definitely one of them - no-one comes close to getting as many forum mentions as this guy (well apart from SteveShovlar maybe )! On this occasion it was just he was a bit unfortunate on having the camera focus on his various antics through out the evening... Roll on the next one! Jive
Have to agree Rabbit certainly a top draw GP for a temporary track but is the Stockholm track edging towards a diamond shape which Olsen favoured about 10 years ago? It looked quite slow on the inside and it looked faster with riders sweeping around the outside I to thought Rickardsson was lucky to escape an exclusion 3 times, clearly took Hancock, took Gollobs line and front wheel and then was definately not under power when Crump fell, as why the red lights went on only Tony Steele will know As for the tapes fiasco well should have been sorted earlier this is the world championship! Certainly pleased for Leigh Adams who just got on with the job and I never really noticed him when he suddenly appeared in the final and I thought how did he get there Roll on Prague! PTDragons
As has been shown he was well within his rights to complain about Gollob, or rather the bike. The fact that it doesn't improve the performance of the bike for Tomasz is beside the point. Nickis argument stands. What's the point of having rules if they're not adhered to. The subject came up yesterday, and after speaking to a referee was told that Gollob was ok to ride in the re-run with a broken mudguard (presumably because of the time constraints put upon him), but would have to have it replaced by the time of his next programmed ride. 21st century heathen
Assuming that's gospel then fair enough. It was obvious Nicki genuinely thought he had a case, rather than just sour grapes.
Gemini
On reflection I shouldn't have added that to the end of my post. I had made my point. For that I apologise. Thanks for that 21stCH. I agree with Rabbit I think a lot of people are a bit "tetchy and over-protective" about Nicki and any comment on him seems to incur a strong reaction. As I posted before I would have said the same things if it had been Mark Loram or Greg Hancock, as I am pretty neutral about Nicki, but I still remain to be convinced they would do the same things he makes a habit of. xDx
Well done to Leigh Adams... class. I thought the racing was awesome. Great riding. Here go all of the TRicky haters yet again...! Gemini
Love the spitting and nose blowing Nicki Pedersen.. Prefer something just a tad more refined myself. Even Pawprint has better hygene manners and always leaves the room if she wants to stick her hind leg in the air to lick her bum.
