What a shambles of a day that was. Burger van ridiculously expensive for the poor stuff you were given, 1 ambulance to save Granty some money and mug the fans off, Congreve having delayed concussion just in time for when Newcastle were struggling and couldn’t afford a last place. Track is an absolute disgrace and not a single rider looked comfortable on it. The Berwick juniors refused to ride on it because of how poorly prepared it was, on the advice of the senior riders, lucky if there was about 400 Newcastle fans there as well, saw more Berwick merch than Newcastle

Funny enough… @Shadders said exactly the same about merchandise… there was a noticeably large turnout of Berwick fans there!
They’ll get torn a new bum hole next week by Newcastle.. a large  Glasgow support should boost the numbers there but after that I do fear for them!

As long as Granty is firing out the Burgers,he won’t care where the Consortium’s money is going.

As a neutral fan from West Cumbria was surprised how good the crowd was considering recent diamonds results, Yes a few bandits fans, thought the track was no worse than normal for (b)rough park, but imo opinion the sales in the burger van etc may keep the diamonds alive this season as the team won't need many away points paid as it is, may win a couple more home meetings

No complaints about the bar prices then?,,, the lot around us were happily pouring it down tha necks and getting louder as the match drew to an end. A wouldn't care, but its only holiday camp lager anyway, but suppose they had had an extra hour and a half on it? ;)

Well done to the lads for getting over the line, a good/decent guest performance helped massively.  :t:

Made the trip down last night.as a Berwick fan I thought credit due to the lads that finished the meeting and got the bonus point. The ambulance scenario is something that has reared its head earlier in the season so still lessons to be learned there . I found it strange that the 90 or so minutes interval awaiting it’s return should have proved the time to be sorting out the ruts or bumps on the 3rd and 4 th bend not until after George nearly totalled Kyle in the re run. It would have been a good night at the turnstiles as from we were standing there were as many Berwick fans in the stand as there were Newcastle. The burger van ladies worked the socks off. And mighty fine food it was too. I thought it was worth the Akkers. If Ty is out fir a few weeks I would be asking Complin to guest at home meets. End of the day it gets dark so on to the next one

Bomber and Kyle then? :D

Wish it was two replacements spoken to... not guests...

Bomber has a higher average than BWD

To answer some of the comments on here, there was 20 tons of new shale laid on the track and it will take a while to settle. at a recent grasstrack meeting they had two ambulances in attendance and thet cost £3,600!! That's a massive outlay when you're working on tight margins, admittedly the delays are very frustrating but the non availability of NHS ambulances is making the situation worse, remember, two meetings have been abandoned already this season because of the 6-8 hour delay in getting a county ambulance.

So would we have to have a new set of rules in the rule book

serious injury = unlimited time. Doctor looking at rider = 30 mins. Riders shaken = 10 minutes. Spectator in crowd falling ill = 40 minutes. AirFence deflation = 30 minutes. Innocent riders machinery repairs= 10 minutes.

The list could go on as how many meetings run over 2 hours if there is not an unforeseen incident

Then have two idiot ambulances and paramedic teams at each race meeting smart arse

It's comforting that no matter what goes on in the world, there'll always be sour Berwick fans whinging when their team gets beat :D

Whinging ? We got a point with 5 riders at a track where we normally come away empty-handed

Correct . I went home reasonably happy. I’m sure the promotion at Newcastle would have been rubbing their hands with the amount of Berwick fans swelling the crowd and the burger van. Overall a tight meeting and the winners take the spoils. Can’t run without a crowd bringing in the money.

BWD 8.21 Harris 8.26 but your are 5% enhancement for home meetings ,so think Harris could guest.

Think we had this conversation last week, as Richie wasn't allowed to guest,,, but really who knows the rules?,,, for me Richie (if allowed) or Howarth. Both put in good guest performances. ;)

No 5% added, due to the fact he's on an assessed/converted average.

Was there a problem in the pits straight after last race as ref had to go down

I asked earlier… was told it was to do with Starke’s silencer! I imagine though as it seems issues went in after the race that not a jot will be done even if there was something!

Complin is on an assessed average so, as I am aware, can't guest for anyone until he achieves a proper greensheet average.
