Bagpuss
Interesting comments on Doyle I've never been a fan particularly but I thought as a GP rider and former World Champ he was a poor ambassador for speedway on Mobday night, he didn't do one lap of honour from what I saw, nipping back to the pits across the centre concrete every time and not even shaking Pickering's hand after their tremendous heat 9 battle. Heard a rumour too that we nearly ended up with him and Kasper rather than Pickering and Worrall this year, thank goodness for that.
Bash
He just isn't a team player, being the more experienced rider he should be taking the worse of the two gates, but it like in the SON he always gave Fricke the worse gate.

The only gate choice in league racing is Heat 15, and riders such as King and Batchelor are experienced enough to deal with whatever gate they agree with Doyle. The main thing is for them to have a plan for likely first bend scenarios.
Arch Stanton
Half decent meeting by the way. Bit more of an outside line that worked this week unlike the first meeting against Peterborough. Better crowd than I was expecting too for a dead rubber. SPEEDY69
I thought Louis was pretty honest in his programme notes about the results so far and to quote Danny King's words was also a reflection of their frustration. Confidence/mental strength is so key in all sports and what separates champions on that day from the rest. Nobody will be more disappointed with their performances than the riders themselves and kicking them won't always help. The league starts at Foxhall next week with a really strong looking Belle Vue outfit (should Zagar be in their team and not Allen) and it must be a frightening prospect for the Witches. Baldyman
Personally I think we beat Belle Vue easily,, even with our normal 1 to 7,,,,Fricke is pony at Foxhall,,, Zagar will be worse than pony,,, and ya never know with Kurtz,,, normally pony but last time was okay,,, Wright is also another one,, has done okay on occasions,,, but not always,,,, but obviously their top 2 being really pony will see us win. The crowd are gonna love it,, the management will then be giving it the big one,, then the home meeting after that we will lose as they are less pony at Foxhall
LisaColette
So Hume has just beaten Pickering at Edinburgh, might have got a draw or even a win if he did it last night!

Another night, on a different track. In fact, stage the Witches v Stars at Foxhall again with the same line-ups, and you'll get a different result. Some fans saying, if, if, if - it applies to both teams. Lawson normally rides very well at Foxhall, scored 3!

If you’re talking about a different meeting then sure, his score will certainly be different on a different day. So this “if” doesn’t apply to both teams does it? Because only one team were missing their riders and it wasn’t Lynn who were at full strength. Nobody knows for certain that Starke and Rowe would have scored more than the two points from eight rides that their replacements managed, but an educated guess tells you it’s more than likely! Falcon1983
Every meeting is different and you can only race with the riders available Heeps scored 2 I think he would have scored 2 riding at no.2 I think Riss had the pace to win all his races but he was racing Doyle in 3 So Riss at 4 would have seen witches "most likely" win the meeting

They are team mates. The whole point of that pairing, no matter how strange it seemed, was that they would score heat advantages - which they did. Riss also covered Heat 8. The big question is will they risk Heeps at 2 for the match against Belle Vue ... if they do, and he fails to race Doyle (LOL!), at least Starke will be available to cover Heat 8. With heat 8 being a protected heat, the only way Starke could come in is for a tapes offence or failing to beat 2 minutes.

Only the #7 is protected - the #6 can replace the #2. Indeed, it's not clear if a T/S can or can't be used for the #2. I've asked the SCB and BSPL why the regulation is hidden under: "012.6 RACE FORMATS 012.6.1 15 Heats In all Premiership Team competitions the #7 is protected in heats 2 and 8 and no replacements are permitted unless injured and confirmed in writing by the MO"
