Glasgow v Berwick CL 22/4/22 @19-30

Recommended Posts

Just through the door, by god that was magic tonight. Might be the adrenaline still pumping but I can't remember a better league match than that. Heats 10, 12 and 13 were out of this world. Team looks solid from 1-7 all capable of winning heats. Fair play to the bandits they all got stuck in final score a wee bit harsh

Some excellent racing tonight despite the scoreline. Harris still rides likes we wanted him to in a Tigers racejacket though had limited back up. Berwick have too many points invested at reserve to return 4 points. Wells was decent, Pijper got into it as it slickened off and Flint seemed to lack the desire to race full on for four laps. Best meeting to date for Connor Bailey, needs to do it more consistently. Much tougher test tomorrow at Leicester.

Some tremendous racing tonight ,certainly no lack of effort from the Bandits riders,we were just outridden on the night, very entertaining meeting. Not one re-run or a faller  in the 15 heats. The one thing that was proven though is the present Berwick reserves are not the strongest in the league.

You can probably give Etheridge a pass if he's not 100% fit but Bickley has made zero progress. It's sad as he was a brilliant youngster but it just doesn't seem to be working at senior level.

100% wouldn't be downhearted as a bandits fan. Were always in the mix just wee bit home knowledge came into play in the close heats

When is Jye ever a 100% fit is the question you have ask.Find a Guest or r/r on his average. Not many reserves will have had the chances that Kyle has had in the sport 3 full seasons at reserve.

I was quite happy that Bickley didn't on again for Berwick for this season, but its fair to say his scores so far this season are not up to where they should. Hopefully he gets things sorted sooner rather than later,

Disappointing that Berwick couldn't get closer to the home team but I think 36pts will prove to be about par for visiting teams this season so no disgrace.

They were certainly worth more than the points scored.Glasgow don’t seem to have weak link at home .

Comfortable in the end but Berwick we’re competitive for the majority of the night.

Some superb racing especially between Cookie and Bomber, on Cookie he looks a different animal this year so far and back to his imperious best.

Lets see how we go tonight as a tougher test awaits would be disappointed if we don’t get at least a point.

A very enjoyable evening , 56-34 doesn't reflect on how good a meeting it actually was .

I'm getting more and more impressed with Connor Bailey . We knew this was a huge season for him as he has to break out of the reserve position to continue his progress , and he's certainly started off with that aim in mind . He looks much more aggressive in his riding , though its a controlled aggression even if Mr Etheridge disagreed .

But as has been said , round Ashfield we don't look to be  having a weak link , but the standard of the racing is the most important thing and the track is producing some spectacular stuff.  Any race with Harris in it last night was brilliant .

Berwick are a decent side and I can certainly see them as play off contenders this season .

I’d agree. Berwick were better than the score suggests. Craig didn’t gate well last night, but conditions were different to a week ago. Ulle still needs a few weeks to be 100% I think and he looked frustrated in a couple of heats last night. But he’ll get there, and he did get a paid max last week, put with 8 from 4 rides last night, so he’s not doing badly. You can just see there is a bit more to come . He pulled an important block on Chris Harris in heat 9 even though he finished last in the race. I think having Tom at 5 and Ulle at 3 is working nicely.

Broc is a bit of a weak link at the moment but he got better as the meeting went on and was practicing afterwards, along with Ulle. Seemed to be getting a bit of help from Tom and Craig.

Connor’s been phenomenal. 9+1 last week, 9+2 this week. Fabulous passing in heats 8 and 12. We knew he was better than his average but he’s killing it right now.
