Completely agree..farcical...only in British speedway..great way to start their new flagship event.

Suspect few will regard it as a flagship event. Rather another example of failing to provide value for money re season tickets. Even trying to stress their benign benevolence in that they have bot increased prices despite more races than normal

Don't think season tickets count...anyway more to the point why call it pairs when there are 3 riders!?

From Peatboghorror press release:  "... Normal Premiership admission prices apply, with season tickets not valid for this event ..."

They've tried to make it trendy with the use of the Rising Star or #8 - a token gesture - and the semi-final and Final, and of course the GP-style points scoring for the aggregate totals over the six legs.

Any sponsorship, any prize money?

If they were really serious about making this competition something you "must attend" then the third rider (injury cover), would be another one of the top five in the team...

Instead we have the RIsing Stars doing the third rider role...

And one is a guest just to take away any credibility the new competition may have had.... :D

They just can't help themselves can they?

To me the the sensible solution would be the teams no 6 or either of the rising stars (7 or 8)

If they were serious about this competition they would incorporate a Lucky Loser element somewhere

Updates has a line-up, I'm far from convinced it is correct - the clubs are listed as riding in alphabetical order?

That IS the correct line up for Peterborough. Whether that is by design, or fate, is not known.

Not sure what forecast you checking but BBC and met office are saying 50% chance of light rain at 9pm

it's changing by the hour though... now 50% chance of light rain by 8pm and 90% chance of heavy rain by 9pm

Surely Jordan Palin is withholding his services ? He is not injured , ill or riding in a FIM meeting it is clearly stated as just unavailable. This is a scheduled fixture that has been on the calendar since the start of the season & all all along rising stars would be involved so following the SCB rules Palin should be facing a ban ?
