This was a decent event up until now.

Tomorrow's teams are taking the p1ss and devalues the whole tournament.

I have no issue with teams using who they want in their teams, but why no Doyle, Fricke, Zagar....and I'm not really sure why Lynn have gone for Lawson over Pickers as I'd have thought he was a deffo round his old track.

Have the top teams been told to field substandard teams to even things up before the final round?

No wonder there has been no promotion of this event. British Speedway doing its best to screw things up yet again

Don't think Picko rode in the championship pairs either

It's basically pick who you want, obviously Tungate can't be asked. After all Hawkins has said you use the previous months averages which isn't strictly true as Worrall and Nicholls wouldn't have been allowed in the July events. You now know it's pick who you want if they are available and willing.

It's in the Regulations:

  • 016.1.1 Qualifying Criteria
2 riders from the top 4 by MA from the green sheets of the month prior to the event will determine the Pair for each Team, with the Rising Star being the reserve.

No updates have been published.

Like i said,it is obviously pick who you want as that particular rule has been broken twice already.

It does seem odd though that Ipswich quoted the Regulation. They could easily have said that Tungate was unavailable, which probably wouldn't have been queried.

Wright & Kurtz?  Hmm. Looking at the scores there this year, you could be right but having attended the league match in May when the Aces were generally poor while Wright top scored, Kurtz was poor.  Fricke & Zagar were inconsistent but had their moments, Kurtz top scored in April League Cup meeting I guess.  Witches using Starke potentially throws the door wide open on the competition again, as it looked like the trophy (if there is one) was Foxhall bound.

How likely is the meeting to go ahead, rain forecast for 15:00 onwards increasingly more likely into the evening.  Not helpful for the likes of myself who were planning to attend but ideally need to be on the road by 16:00 (or in my case beyond Lichfield on the A38 by 16:00).

Would definitely be cheaper to buy the BSN feed ...

You have to pick your pairs team a bit earlier... So when Lynn picked Klindt and Lawson for tomorrow, Pickering wasn't looking good. But yesterday when Edinburgh announced their team to face Oxford he was feeling a lot better

Tungate isn't available anyway. He is on Swedish league duty for Masarna.
