Wee Eck
I’ve just had a look at the forecast. Not surprised! Wet and 3C. And a meaningless fixture. Not good for an opening night so sensible to call off early as they’ve done

Had the weather not deteriorated I'm pretty certain that there would have been a strong turnout of Bees fans which would have helped make the evening a success for the new Brum promotion in terms of crowd levels which I would imagine is very important to them, so not completely meaningless really.

Apologies - I didn’t mean to offend. Meaningless in terms of the league or the cup.and meaningless in terms of the made up opposition. But only my opinion - I prefer a season opener, if it’s to be a glorified practice session, to be en open meeting, an interleague challenge or an inter club trophy. Something that matters, even if it’s just pride.

Bees fans in large numbers are patiently waiting & hoping for a chance to see their club back in action. Brum have stated they need people to attend in larger numbers, tonight had it gone ahead tonight would have very likely kept all parties happy.

Are the Coventry riders Chris Harris & Adam Roynon any relation to the riders of the same names who rode for Birmingham two days ago at Wolverhampton? Or even the Chris Harris (Berwick) & Adam Roynon (Redcar).......

Not technically the same Peterborough !! but the select version, every team has a second select version do they not , Harris maybe riding at Poole now as the team member replacing the guest who was replacing an injured rider who was guesting for him 2

Crang rode for the NL side and Joe T was a mascot I believe. The match is Vs "Coventry select" no mention of bees Want to pedantic what was Richard Lawson doing in a "Brummies past and present" side at Wolverhampton? Admittedly Luke didn't rider for the Bees but he did ride for Coventry. The Storm that is. Joe was a Coventry asset but a little too young to ride in any league when Brandon was open

Joe was a Coventry asset but a little too young to ride in any league when Brandon was open Luke Crang had 3 years with the Coventry NDL, so can claim to have been a Coventry rider. But Joe Thompson wasn't a Coventry asset or rider. Coventry's last season was 2016. The licence was frozen in Feb 2017 (although the NDL team at Leicester in 2018 used the Coventry name). However Joe Thompson didn't turn 16 until April 2020, long after Coventry' demise.
brianbuck
Why anyone would want to make an issue of this is beyond me! So what if Joe Thompson (or Lewis Kerr) never rode for Coventry? This wasn't to have been any kind of official fixture - just a challenge match, and as Coventry haven't raced for the last 6 years there is bound to be a declining number of their former riders still available. Surely the objective was to put out a team which would have been competitive and would have had a genuine chance of winning - so if it had included a couple of guests, so what?
